In a proper African home using Nigeria as a case study , your parent places you in a position of a deity including your extended family, you must be respected as a first child by your siblings, you were worshipped by them i.e your parents , ever since your birth . The extended family has given you a title and your parents looks upto you.
Your siblings are made to worship you even if you were disabled coz there's a religious backing to it .you are handed the batton of leadership automatically from birth by your parents , that's your inheritance from the work they put into you.
In an African home , there are several special births eg twin birth, born feet first , or curly haired ( dread lock)
Etc , which are all special births . But the first born is the pillar of the home. Now you have to know how to carry the weights, don't be self centered learn to empower and delegate responsibilities to capable younger ones if you don't want to die young.

Bullshit. They should go to their father and mother.

It's not an African culture.

Are you a first born ? Got this from your own post , Nobody should have this mindset of, I owe nobody nothing. Nobody should expect other people to be fully responsible for them either.. We share the idea
