Politicians self-promoting their candidacy are slowly embracing the idea of consensus and using it to push acceptance. In doing so they credit themselves as advocates of democracy. There is nothing democratic in consensus. They frame their speech and use democracy as smokescreen to sell consensus to the electorate. Don't buy it.

Consensus is synonymous with concession, which derives from conceed...or to submit!

In its applications, concession is used to symbolize an economic arrangement secured with a contractual term and binding on the trade parties. When applied in territorial warfare, the word conceed translates to yield ground to the victor. In politics, consensus will have application in instances where needs and interests are negotiated and a win-win situation emerges that each party is comfortable in.

Contrary to the idea of consensus, democracy is the organizing of people, with authority to deliberate and express choice in representation or delegation of rulership.

Rulership belong to the people, but if everyone is a ruler there will be no one to rule over. Another name for rulership is government. Only a fraction of the people will be selected with delegated authority to rule government. The selection of these few is an involved exercise and an obligation of civic duty upon the people. People must exercise choice and select who will go to government. This is democracy.

Anyone calling consensus a democratic exercise is a thief and will put a blindfold on you to enter government and loot treasury and exploit you with abuse.

Denounce and call them out as looters-in-waiting. Say NO to consensus, arrangee and pardee pardee selection into government.
