Every business is a solution centre for one identified problem or the other. The problem you are solving and how you are solving it determines how long you will run the business.

This simply means that if you want to stay longer or get your business positioned for generations, you can't just pick any kind of business you are interested in and venture into it immediately. You must first study the business line, identify its minor and major problems, and focus on providing consistent innovative solutions. This way, you will break into the business line with the great unique value proposition and win the heart of many customers/clients faster and bigger.

For instance, if you desire to go into a clothing business line, you don't just find out where you can source the fabrics at the best prices, you must do a critical study into that line of business, and find out what the players in that business line are not doing and the pain points of their customers. By this, you will be able to clearly define the problem you have got to solve beyond just buying the fabrics into your shop for selling.

Many businesses are going through hell and shutting down quickly because of no clearly defined statement of problem for the business and are not innovative in their business approaches.
