Elephant tramples woman to death before returning and walking over her lifeless corpse

Maya Murmu was out collecting water in Raipal village, Eastern India , when the escaped elephant appeared from nowhere and trampled her.
A 70-year-old woman who was trampled to death by an elephant, had her body stamped over by the same wild creature.

Maya Murmu was out collecting water in Raipal village, Eastern India, when the escaped elephant appeared from nowhere and trampled her on Thursday morning.

Later, she died in hospital due to her injuries, according to inspector Lopamudra Nayak at Rasgovindpur police station.

The same evening the elephant reappeared, whilst the 70-year-old’s body lay on top of her funeral pyre.
