Maintenance required light is not that Their is oil shortage, But it's car servicing, changing of oil is due..and lemme enlightened you that once your car is been serviced or you changed your oil, make sure that your car trip on the dashboard is been reset..so that it won't repeat itself again.. you can call on 07068172011..for more enlightened

I change my car oil based on mileage, I always track my mileage and I have them reset it at every oil change. This is not the first time I'm servicing my car that's why I'm concerned. The light usually comes on at about 4k miles and before then I usually change the oil.

I don't think is properly reset bro, make sure you get it done in your next servicing.. that's the only thing that can makes the light comes up..even if their is no more oil in your engine it's only the oil light that will signal it on your dashboard.. maintenance required is only for car servicing..

That light comes up usually every 5k miles or so depending on the vehicle manufacturer.. it's from the ECU and can't be reprogrammed.
You can however time your servicing to coincide with the 5k miles.. if you're servicing every 3k miles or so. It will overlap at around 1.95k miles or so.
