I did not attend the Redeemed convention but I heard that Obasanjo was allowed on the pulpit personally I find this insulting to the body of Christ which i beleive RCCG represents.

Imagine that evil man on the pulpit the same man of "CAN my foot" on the pulpit

If you were there can you confirm what actually happened and what is your take on this.
Re: Obasanjo In Redemption Camp? by cgift(m): 2:01pm On Aug 13, 2007
what is wrong in allowing obasanjo mount the pulpit? I was not there but it does not matter. Do not forget that all authorities are allowed by God. So he has played his part despit is shprtcomings. He has more experince than you and i who have never being president of any country. He must have shared of those experiences with the people. Remember also that h is trying to adjust to a normal life now and draw closer to God. I dont think it would have been nice if they have not recognised him.
Re: Obasanjo In Redemption Camp? by sleekdot(m): 2:07pm On Aug 13, 2007
What about the evil and corrupt way he ran the country which I anm sure are against the will of God.
SO Abacha and IBB with because of their experiece too should be allowed or even Lawrence Anini, Shina Rambo, Tafa Balogun, Alams and other thiefs should be allowed to share their experiences

You think OBJ cares about God if in doubt remember "CAN my foot" saga

how do you mean by the boldened area of your comment? I think he is a great man. They all have their shortcomings and definately could have done better. I will only express shock if he was actually invited which information we do not have. I want to believ he went there on his own and was recognised. Until justice catches up with him, we cannot judge him on our own. When justice catches up with him, he will then our yes will be opened and we shall confine him to the dustbin of history. Th GO would have honoured him because the bible says so.
Re: Obasanjo In Redemption Camp? by sleekdot(m): 3:28pm On Aug 13, 2007
I think according to cgift, a great president is known by how backward you set your country, how well you rig elections, how terrible infrastructures are, How well you encouraged Adedibu, Chris uba and gangsterism, and the number of unresolved murders.

I thought I saw in the press some time ago that ADeboye alleged that he warned OBJ against third term and OBJ avoided him during the period to achieve his selfish and demonic goal of 3rd term. Now he is allowed to mount the pulpit. WHere does RCCG stand on this Demon OBJ issue?

OBJ that insulted openly a man of God in Plateau and made no apologies he actually said he has no apologies for that -Remember touch not my anointed, . Is that the man allowed to mount the pulpit of a revered Xtian church like RCCG?
Re: Obasanjo In Redemption Camp? by cgift(m): 4:56pm On Aug 13, 2007
sleek, you may be right from a human perspctive that he ought to have being ostracized but mind you, a good man of God wold not even do that. They will not look at your past but your future. In the real sense of it, the Pastor of Redeemed is the one we can actually say is great. OBJ has left a sour image in the minds of many no doubt, that does not mean he should be treated like a devil.
Re: Obasanjo In Redemption Camp? by DeepSoul(f): 8:21pm On Aug 13, 2007
Yeah he shouldn't be treated by a devil.

But he shdnt have been allowed to mount the pulpit at that gr8 gathering.

He isn't qualified enough for that!

But then I guess just like everyone else, Pastor Adeboye is human.

That's where sentiments set in.
Re: Obasanjo In Redemption Camp? by denex: 9:12pm On Aug 13, 2007
Redemption is not for the saved but for the sinners.

If the man said CAN my foot, then he said it. CAN is the Christian Association of Nigeria. A Union. At least he didn't say God my foot.

When will you realise that OBJ is no more your president and has his life to live.

The man did the best anybody could do, and as time goes on, while Yar'Adua continues on the framework he built, we will know what OBJ did for this country.
Re: Obasanjo In Redemption Camp? by dayokanu(m): 7:04am On Aug 14, 2007
SO if Anini comes to the camp he too can be allowed on the pulpit?
Anybody can come to church right but should anybody mount the pulpit to address a congregation?
He should have been given a seat just to sit down and watch proceedings not to misyarn to the congegation.
@ Denex,
Some of the things he did like enthroning gangsterism, rascality e.g Adedibu and Uba, Flouting court orders thank God for Yar'Adua so a president can still obey court order as in the case of Peter Obi, enriching himself at the expense of the populace, compare how much he was worth in 1999 and in 2007.
don't lets start discussing that evil man here
Re: Obasanjo In Redemption Camp? by denex: 7:59am On Aug 14, 2007
@dayokanu

abeg leave story! If Paul can become a great man of God, who is Anini? Who is Obasanjo? If the pope can be friends with Hitler, who is Adeboye to reject ordinary Obasanjo?

All those many talk about Adedibu and Uba, did Obasanjo make them what they were? The man only prevented civil strife because if he does anything to those men, it is the same people he is trying to help that will go on violent protest.
Compare the case of Alameseigha and the Ijaws.

What a reasoning? How come the whole of Anambra State didnt go up in flames when Uba was flushed out as governor by the Supreme Court? Why didnt Ibadan go up-in-arms when the Oyo State Police Commissioner removed the policemen attached to Adedibu and stopped him from using siren? These guys had the backing of OBJ and that was what emboldened them to commit the attrocities they committed. Where was Adedibu when Lam Adesina was the governor of Oyo State in 1999 - 2003? Have you heard the comments of the new Olubadan lately as regards OBJ? I guess the new king knows more than we do.
Re: Obasanjo In Redemption Camp? by denex: 1:24pm On Aug 14, 2007
@desgeizd

are you saying 1999-2003, when Lam Adesina was governor Obasanjo wasn't president?

What a reasoning!
Re: Obasanjo In Redemption Camp? by dayokanu(m): 1:43pm On Aug 14, 2007
How can anybody attempt to divorce the mayhem in Anambra and Oyo from OBJ When he left how come Anambra knew peace?

@Denex, Now a specific question: Would Anini be allowed on the pulpit? If yes then OBJ should be.
Would Hitler be allowed to preach on the pulpit?

You are talking about a changed Paul not Saul of Tarsus that preached.
Re: Obasanjo In Redemption Camp? by egin(m): 1:48pm On Aug 14, 2007
How did Obasanjo get to the camp? Did he fly in a helicopter considering the bad condition He left Nigerian roads after 8 years in power. Whoever allowed him on the pulpit should be ashamed. Nigerian leaders both past and present need to be told the truth just like the Olubadan designate is doing. We need more of him.
Re: Obasanjo In Redemption Camp? by sleekdot(m): 2:12pm On Aug 14, 2007
So the almighty Uba can be curtailed?

So someone can call Adedibu's bluff in Ibadan

So a president is required to and can obey court orders?

Thank God for getting rid of OBJ.

Because now all previous impossibles are becoming possible?

So we can now draw our inference about Nigerian religious leaders The comandment for Obasanjo and other leaders is different from that of you and me.

WHo allowed OBJ on that pulpit has desecrated the place.
Re: Obasanjo In Redemption Camp? by desgiezd(m): 3:55pm On Aug 14, 2007
@ Denex

In 1999-2003 when Lam Adeshina was governor of Oyo State, OBJ was surely the president but remember that it wasnt PDP that was in power in Oyo State so there was no basis for Adedibu to begin to request for money from Lam Adesina. You will remember very well that Ladoja refused to give money to Adedibu and this was the basis of their quarrel and the foundation of the problems Oyo State had when Ladoja was governor. In fact, Adedibu said it on Channels Television that Ladoja was spending N60m monthly as security vote and that he (Adedibu) was entitled to a quarter of that.

Let us realise that with the kind of powers that Nigerian President weilds, no one, I repeat, no one can be too powerful for the president to put in check.
Re: Obasanjo In Redemption Camp? by chidichris(m): 11:00am On Aug 16, 2007
repentance goes with remorse, confession and promise or unreadiness not to go back to the same sin.
who is saying obj wants to draw closer to God. it will be fine if he wants to draw closer to men of God.
if he is ready to repent, the first step is to relinguish all the wealth of the nation which he acquired forcefully, confess his sins and ask for forgiveness from nigerians and God and then change his way of life.
by the way where would the devil incernate start?
a president who said an election would be a do or die affairs.
i thank God that he can acquire electricity for himself and house hold but he can never have his own roads.
