up work? I thought you are talking of better remote, the one tensa and airlay are doing. Freelancing is good but I don't rate it. You cannot even make a living from it.

Hello ma'am..

Just stumbled on your thread.

What about young people like me, who'd love to (I've been wanting to) but don't use computers or laptop?

Tech still remains the best for whoever that wants a remote work.

But if you don't wanna go through that route, then you can follow tensa's suggestion; salesforce admin. The pay is quite huge, though some are of the notion that salesforce admin roles are being taken by salesforce developers, but I still believe one can get a job solely as a salesforce admin. Just understand the salesforce platform well, write the salesforce cert exam, and start looking for remote job opportunities.

If you're good with words, you could try freelance writing(with good SEO skills). Though it seems saturated, but a lot of folks jumping into writing are really mediocre writers. Sometime last year, around December ending or so, a particular fb friend of mine, Chima mmeje made a post that she was $2K short of earning her first 6-figure income in dollars as a writer based in Nigeria. Though she left Nigeria to the UK few months ago, she's still a testimony that some really good writers earn really well even here in Nigeria.

You could also try product design, that too is nice and affords you lot of opportunity to work remitely. Some people say virtual assistant is good too, I don't have much idea about it.

Remote working is bae, but the first few months are usually the hardest. I was almost frustrated after my first three months before I finally landed a gig.

But it gets easy with time, because clients would have seen that you have completed a lot of jobs and that puts you ahead of those with new profiles.

I believe there is more competition now than in 2021.

One advise is do not stick to one platform, I make use Upwork and Fiverr, but I prefer Upwork, but I seemed to have performed better on Fiverr this month than on Upwork.

I am planning on switching over from writing to Tech probably next year. A friend of mine is making a kill as a Sharepoint Administrator.

Attached is my earnings for July on Fiverr, I know it isn't much but it would motivate someone.

You can learn Copywriting from Venzal's thread, you don't need anyone to teach you. Just read everything on his thread on Email Copywriting.

All of these requires a laptop yes?

Hey poco, trust you’re great. I want to ask an advise as to picking a skills to earn from up work seeing that you do 9-5.

I’m a new graduate of accounting and I intend doing 9-5 but also like a side hustle. I’m thinking data analytics but do you think it can be combined with 9-5?

I also have an experience with content writing, or should I do that instead. Which one do you think is more feasible?m to combine with a 9-5?

PS: I will have to learn data analytics since I don’t have an idea much on it but I already have an experience with content writing, written for some international blogs already.

Hello!

If I get you correctly, you want to know which would be easier to combine with a 9-5.

Any can be combined with a 9-5, it is all dependent on you and your client. Some clients want a few hours of your time, some want all of your time. Both clients would make this very clear to you and you can choose what you want.

It is better to start with what you are already grounded in. Thank you.

There are many non-tech remote jobs like customer care reps, sales executives, product :Dmanagers grin grin/owners, software testers etc.

Pay is by experience level. $1k-$1.5k for beginners, $2k-$3.5k for mid and $5k+ for experienced roles depending on your field. Bear in mind that you have an 80% chance of being shortchanged if you have a Nigerian :Dsupervisor grin who will slash your pay and give you like 50% or less of these figures.

I supervise some African devs and I slash their salaries by more than 60% sometimes and divert it for myself. $500 is already big salary in Nigeria so any of them that complains gets kicked out at the next appraisal and replaced ASAP with someone who's willing to accept even less.

Username checks out. Lol

In the freelance world, there are well paid freelancers, medium paid freelancers, low paid freelancers, and under paid freelancers.

Well paid freelancers barely make up 10%. Others live from hand to mouth due to numerous factors.

I happened to be a well paid freelancer, because I asked for what I'm worth, after being paid peanuts for years.

Now I make 7 figures monthly and if someone had told me I'll be earning this amount of money, I wouldn't have believed it.

Remote work isn't an easy path though. It's lonely and mentally tasking too. If it was easy, everyone will be successful. I[/can I learn from you?]
