Where does she charge her phone?... how does he know she has a charger in her car? That guy knows the car very well. Is it even key start? Most likely fingerprint start.

Such a car is easily identified... not a common car. Car reported stolen ... Police should be focused on recovering it. Saying there is a tussle over ownership is saying the car is not really stolen...the Police don'tget involved in relationship problems.
