Just the other day I was reading one of the national dailies were it was reported that, a 3yr old girl who was sexually abused (raped) in Suleja (Northern part of Nigeria). By a man who was confirmed to be HIV positive, you can just imagine the physical and mental pain for the innocent child.

You begin to ask yourself how many innocent kids have been abused by one Uncle Kunle or Auntie Yemi, John the house-boy or Mary the house-girl, even when it comes to us adults when do you draw the line in a relationship, I mean a girl tells her boyfriend No and he still goes ahead to have sex with her or Can a husband rape his wife? when his wife has been out all day she is tired from having a hectic day at work, and her husband still wants to make love to her, she says No and he forces himself on her.

And that brings me to the question, were do you draw the line? What exactly does the Law say about Rape? Do we have records of the so called rapist?

It’s a crime against our women (sisters, daughters, wives and mother’s) that should not be treated with light gloves; It has gone on for to long, the victims of the crime do not speak out, because of the stigma attached the it (the crime of rape) the people that carry out the crime are never brought to book, because I guess there are no clinics that the victims can go when such a crime occurs for the necessary test and first aid, siemen test, etc, people need to start speaking out, you never know who the next ‘victim’ might be……

Am speachless, it happen to me once so i know how it feels.

I've even heard of a lady who used to be molested by her older cousin who was also a girl then. This continued during her teenage years till she got in2 school.

So her parents had this cousin of hers stay with them not knowing she was tutoring their poor daughter the art of lesbianism.

Be careful who u admit into ur house. Unfotunately, it aint written on the face. So, Watch and pray

Here's a much better, much easier idea: be the kind of parent that your children can talk to.
