The National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) has written to the Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) about the restoration of the accreditation of the Abia State Polytechnic Aba.

Recall that governor of Abia State, Dr Okezie Victor Ikpeazu had vowed to ensure the restoration of the Polytechnic's Accreditation within one month, a promise be fulfilled by releasing funds for the settlement of part of salaries being owed to the staff of the institution.

The letter read in part, "Further to our letter with Ref. No. C/TEB. 131/ VOL.II/493 dated 18th July 2022, I wish to inform you that following some positive development on the part of the state government, the Board has decided to conditionally restore the accreditation status of Abia State Polytechnic, Aba.

"The decision was predicated on the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the state Government and Staff Unions of the Polytechnic where it was agreed that government will release the sum of Four hundred and Fifty Million naira (N450,000,000.00) for the payment of four months' salary within fourteen days from the date of the agreement.
