The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has been ordered to accept and publish the name of Godswill Akpabio as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Akwa Ibom North/West senatorial district in 2023. According to TheNation, a Federal High Court in Abuja gave the order on Thursday. Justice Emeka Nwite, in a judgment on Thursday, held that INEC acted illegally for refusing to accept and publish Akpabio’s name even when it was sent to it by the APC as its candidate. So INEC is bound to accept any person's name from the parties as candidate, even when there's breach of electoral act in the process? The judgement is fraud and won't stand the test of time. INEC must appeal the judgement 1 Like |

We don't obey court order... Nigerian judiciary has done more harm than good. Akpabio cannot eat his cake and have it. May the blood of the innocents in Imo State through the Supreme Court Governor be upon the useless judges and their generation! |

garfield1: This is Akpabio & APC v INEC. Sole determination: Does INEC reserve the right to refuse publishing the name of any Candidate sent by the Party? Machina & INEC v Lawan & APC is already at the FHC. Agom Eze v INEC, Umahi & APC is already at the Appeal Court Ekpoudom & INEC v Akpabio & APC: On who is the rightful Candidate. It is been handled by Justice Donatus Okorowo. Ruling has been deferred. saintkeppy:There is no co-contestant. |

garfield1:Ask Obinna Ogba. The Court re-iterated that INEC has no right to disqualify anybody. It is the rights of the Court so even if the person did not participate in the Primaries and the Party sends his or her name. Accept and publish, let the aggrieved go to Court. |

garfield1:No, not yet but submissions have been taken since July. They were also in Court last week but it has been adjourned for judgement I think... Ukwueni SAN is standing for Enang Musa SAN is standing for APC Godwin Obla SAN for Udofia Arguments surrounds Udofia's withdrawal letter from the PDP, the situation around the Primaries, et al. Justice Okeke Anulika Agatha is handling it. |

This case will be thrown away when the real contestants goes to court. Akpabio/APC won this case because they must have told the court that they submitted Akpabio's name but INEC refused to accept it, which in its merit seem like Akpabio is right. The other (real) guy will now asked to be joined with INEC in this suit and then appeal. Nna men... I don become lawyer laidis... Sombori should make me a SAN abeg |

kenzysmith:. this is wrong, stop misleading the public. Senator Akpabio became Commissioner from 2002-2007. A 2-term Governor from 2007-2015. A 1-term Senator from 2015-2019. A 1-term Minister 2019-2022. 1 Like |

fergie001: Yes,I read the situation report alongside that of akan vs umoh.akan case is faltering honestly.umo enoh might just win plus it seems he sued too early like edevbie. Ita enang too has fumbled his case.how he resigned from pdp is not his business plus theres a waiver from omisore for udofia.. Records also show that igini threatened that the primary must hold at sheer grace before the primary...enang is saying no primary held yet is hanging onto inec report to make them declare him winner alternatively... The supreme court said a party can cancel primaries if there's cogent and verifiable reasons afterall it is its internal matter...akpabio has the onus I think umahi will win at the supreme court, the judge fumbled.with Austin withdrawing,a new primary must hold and agom eze refused to partake so she's out Ukweni alongside Stella attoe are now pdp leaders in my LGA.they are stringing my uncle along |
