The facilities in the castle are modern facilities. I don't think the previous landlords over the past 600years wouldn't have upgraded the facilities to reflect their times with your claim of some funny story associated with the property

Anything that old has a story, has a history that should be known. Fancy furniture and a new coat of paint just cannot cover certain things.

The first question you should ask is why it is sold in the first place rather than being a heritage site, why is it on the open market and why so cheap.

My guess is that 'new books' have been written to change the narrative and cover up something in its past. If not white folks particularly Europeans are not in the habit of 'pimping' real historical stuff and Italy lives and breathes on its antiquity.
