Alenia Aermacchi M-346 Master

The Aermacchi M-346 Master is a family of military twin-engine transonic advanced jet trainers and combat aircraft. Originally co-developed with Yakovlev as the Yak/AEM-130, the partnership was dissolved in 2000 and the then Alenia Aermacchi proceeded to separately develop the M-346 Master, while Yakolev continued work on the Yakovlev Yak-130. The first flight of the M-346 was performed in 2004. The type is currently operated by the air forces of Italy, Israel, Singapore, and Poland. Since 2016 the manufacturer became Leonardo-Finmeccanica as Alenia Aermacchi merged into the new Finmeccanica, finally rebranded as Leonardo in 2017 - Wiki

The federal government of Nigeria has ordered the procurement of 24 M-346 Alenia Aermacchi Master fighter jets from Italian aircraft maker, Leonardo.

The attack aircraft are worth an estimated €1.2 billion and would see the Italian jets replacing the aging Dassault Alpha Jet A/E in use by the Nigerian Air Force.

Leonardo would provide aircraft, training, support, and munitions for Nigeria as part of a sole-source.
As a partnership, the Italian Air Force would train the Nigerian Air Force pilots at the International Flight Training School of Galatina (Lecce) and Decimomannu airbase (Sardinia) in Italy.

The United States government had in April approved the sale of advanced attack Bell AH-1Z Viper helicopters worth nearly $1 billion.
The State Department had announced the approval of the $997 million sale of 24 Bell AH-1Z Viper helicopters and related equipment to Nigeria.

The related equipment included guidance, night vision and targeting systems as well as engines and training support, the department had said in a notice to Congress.

Meanwhile, military authorities said at the weekend that no Nigerian territory is under the control of terror group, Boko Haram or any other group for that matter.

It said military firepower was hitting the insurgents hard and forced the terrorists to seek refuge in the forests and other ungoverned spaces including the Lake Chad area.

But the same Italy, USA,Germany,UK ,etc refused to sell military weapons to Nigeria, during the PDP years of the locusts. Even when they attempted to procure from the black market in South Africa, the aircraft used to launder money was seized.

We are borrowing trillions for this, is that the most pressing issue at the moment? What happened to the previous 16 bought last year?
Is this govt sensitive to the sufferings of the people?
ASUU is still on strike going to the 9th month now.
Quintopia are you happy with all these?

Read the news again, something is being planned, not for the progress of Nigeria, far from it, Americans have a condition before selling their own, he's going for the ones without those conditions.
