Like the simple topic says, this is a thread to discuss the latest movie by Kunle Afolayan. When it trended online, a lot of 'lessons' came up like: 1. Never trust the humility of the broke man 2. Don't give a man your source of power/wealth 3. Love with sense Etc. Etc. While I am not here to dispute the validity of the 'lessons' above, they seemed strange given the movie I watched. For me, it is more of: 1. Don't marry a man for the streets. Saro was a man for the streets so Rolake made a lifetime error trying to customize him for herself. As soon as they were safe, she should have gone elsewhere 2. Know your leverage: Awarun knew marrying Saro was hustling backwards  Who has time to be monitoring a much younger man as a result of your insecurities, inadequacies and the fact that he would desire younger women?3. What goes around comes around: Rolake ditched her husband for other man who ditched her. 4. Do not be evil: Saro's life is the lesson. What lessons did you take from the movie? |

Awarun na confirm MVP abeg Very calculative Gets hot like fire but can switch back to cold. That vibe of "I need a man but I don't need a man" and I'm still leaving fine. Then Rolake na Snake abeg just that she wasn't smart. Laid her life in the hands of a man... At the end na she loose, she can't go back, she can't stay. Saro is just like the average greedy Nigerian. The movie had me researching that Bird, ase the powers na myth But I love love the scenery Damn cultural, you could be one with the scene Then a little bit of nostalgia. Afolayan did a very good job on settings of the movie, very good location, though the storyline is not something new.. My review on Anikulapo is that there is something about "too much" learn not to overdo things especially loving too much.. It ruins the one who loves too much.. 3 Likes |
