October 1 2022 many nigerian citizens rolled out drums to celebrate the country's 62 independence aniversary, many a citizen critisized the leaders for leadership failure.

Those who celebrated did so with mixed feelings. No thanks to the so many challenges that besiege the country.

while we were lamenting the woes that have befallen Nigeria;ill fate was lurking around the nation.

Citizens were trudging on as usual when suddenly another bad news hit home.Flood waters is on its way from the nation of Cameroon and will soon rip through many states, cities, towns, communities, hamlets of Nigeria .
Yet it was actually a few state governments that cried out for her citizens with no help coming from the federal government.
The federal government of Nigeria has not deemed it fit to declare this 2022 flooding a national disaster and put measures in place to chakemate the recurrent disaster.

Though this flooding is a mixture of natural and man-made disaster,it can be mitigated.

Profering solution to disasters of this magnitude requires deligent and proactive measures from the government. This is the time to know responsible and responsive gov.
We usually here about ecological funds paid into the accounts of state governments. But governors have not lived up to expectations.most of the states affected by this years flooding do not have relief camps yet this flood disaster have been a recurring emergency in the past ten years.

In 2013/2014 it sacked many communities along the flood plane. In 2019/2020 it ripped through communities living along the belt.with many citizens relocating to live with relatives, friends, in uncompleted private/public buildings or make-shift canopis
,hurriedly put together for the victims.

Nigerians, plodding through the economic hardship imposed on them by the twin evils of inflation and insecurity, were gradually being plunged into the dark pit of hunger and death.

Farmers who farmed along the riverine belt of Nigeria have not finished harvesting their farm produce before the current disaster.
Those who braced the odds against dare devil abductors lurking in the bushes and farmlands;who are still awaiting their time for harvest, may have nothing to harvest this season.Thereby impacting nagatively on the availability of food supply for the populace.
