On Tuesday, October 18, 2022, the National Orientation Agency, through an official from the NOA, Akwa Ibom inaugurated the Integrity Club at my Primary place of assignment (PPA), Community Secondary School, Nkek, Ukanafun.


Weeks before then, I volunteered to organize the club - getting ever-ready students; had a two-time meeting with them. The students got themselves immersed in that spirit of patriotism, nationality, and service as I share with them my breathtaking activities I did in my secondary school days.


On the night of 18th October, 2022, the Educational Community development Service (CDS) group in Ukanafun, Akwa Ibom, had a virtual meeting via WhatsApp, and the talk of who to lead the campaign against drug, or substance abuse at my PPA, came up. Without thinking twice, I also volunteered to lead the Corps Members to the school; to be assisted by an eloquent, and vibrant Adannaya, a great corps member too.


19th October, 2022, I had another meeting with the members of Integrity Club, Community Secondary School, Nkek, Ukanafun. I wrote a script of a short drama, titled Addiction. This playlet kicks against the abuse of drugs among secondary school students.

I directed the drama, and the casts (the students) really did well.


On the 20th October, 2022, the chosen members of the Integrity Club, CSS, Nkek, performed the drama, and they did well! Afterwards, I opened the floor, of the campaign against drug, or substance abuse; while Adannaya held the sensitization to the crest, with her vast knowledge as a bio-chemist.


This is a proof, that light too, can be seen in the unlikeliest places. The National Orientation Agency has done well by making the establishment of Integrity Club in secondary schools in Nigeria. This would spur the dreams of getting our dear nation, too, back on track.


I was appointed the Patron of the Integrity Club during the inauguration, even as a Corps Member, and I took it with audacity; since this is also the essence of service.


With us, Nigeria can be our dream nation!

At times, the truth is just soft... needs no hyping.

NYSC is for service, and every corps member has his or her will to serve or not.

But, I've found out that service is weird, but it heals humans. I've decided to serve, since that's the essence of NYSC.
