BECOMING A PAN-IJAWIST

The Ijaw people are arguably the most ancient people in Western africa and one of the most ancient people in Africa.
Research has shown that the Ijoid language (s) are a distinct branch of the Niger-congo and the third oldest in that language tree.
It has remained largely unadulterated compared to other languages and their various language tree in Africa.

The Ijaw people who majorly dwell today in the Niger-delta region of Nigeria engaged in trade and plied the river banks.
It is a well known fact that wherever there is a water head way, an Ijaw navigator isn't far off. This has prompted many Ijaws to migrate along rivers, streams and creek paths to establish settlements, communities, kingdoms and city-states; most of which stood the test of time, few of which were lost into neighboring tribes. Few examples of Ijaw people overwhelmed into neighboring tribes are the notable Waminadokiari, Oguta, Egbema (in imo and rivers) and the Popularly called Oru-igbo communities in the hinterlands.
However an Ijoid migratory batch (BILLECHI) are reported to have kept to their language even though their culture and ways has absolved a little of their closest neighbors.

The Kolokuma-Ijaw variation or dialect is regarded as the most ancient and unadulterated of the IZONIC dialect(s) and due to trading and migration- so many IZONIC clans and settlements absolve a few lingua element into their dialect, making it slightly distinct.
To become a *PAN-IJAWIST* requires a little bit of commitment, passion and love for the culture.
A pan ijawist must
* Travel and identity with other ijaw brethren in their various clans
* A pan ijawist must endeavor to circulate opportunity and wealth between his fellow ijaw from the West to East.
*A pan Ijawist must endeavor to learn a few words in each of the ijonic clans.

If we all become PAN-IJAWIST we will grow with each other, learn to mix our dialects for better understanding... For instance the Nembe people say "áyibá nua" meaning thank God of weldone God.
A pan Ijawist from the Nembe clan can for the sake of Ijaw unity say "Aziba-Nua" "Nanaowei nua" or "Tamara-nua"

Learning a few words from every sister kingdoms and clan and knowing when or how to mix them when in the gathering of all Ijaws from Apoi to the Eastern fringes of even Ibeno will bring about unity and togetherness.

*Be a PAN-IJAWIST today!*
