Group A looks like an easy group for the Netherlands with current African Champion Senegal as the only real oppoition. However, the absence of Senegalese Talisman Sadio Mane would signifcantly weaken the team.

For example the USA vs Iran match would evoke Political undertone, having in the mind the political hatred and conflict between both nations. Also the match between England and Wales would have a cultural undertone, since both nation were part of the Old Great Britain.

The Qatar 2022 World cup is Lionel Messi last chance of winning the world cup. Fortunately Argentina is having a crop of talented and experienced players in their current team. Winning this world would finally comfirm Messi's Place in the pantheon of the greatest players of all time, further driving a wedge in the ongoing comparison between him and Christiano Ronaldo. However, Argentina would have to contend with the fire power of Poland led by Robert Lewandoski and the ever fluid and enterprising Mexicans. I believe the Saudis don't realy stand a chance; they will do more of making up the numbers.

Group D includes current defending champion France. France with its unending supply mill of Stars has in its fold amazing players including current World Footballer of the Year, Kareem Benzema and one of the heir apparent to the throne of Lionel Messi and Christiano Ronaldo in the person of Kylian Mbape. France is not expected to have too much trouble qualifying from the group. It would be more of who qualifiy along with France from the other three teams.

Group E would be an interesting group. It has two of the power houses of World Football; Germany and Spain. Though the German have not been doing too well recently, evidenced from their performances in the Euro Nations League, however they always put up a decent performances in the world Cup. Spain is coming to the world cup with an exciting team of talented youngsters mixed with very experienced legs. Japan on the other hand are a handful for any team any day any time. The Japanese play a brand of fluid attacking and pressing football. Nothing much can be said of Costa Rica except that they are an unpredictable team with a lot of gust and grit in the field of play, thus cannot be overlooked.

The Belgium team were Semi finalist in the 2018 edition of the World Cup. They will be coming to this tournament with loads of expectations. The mercurial form of Kevin de Bruyne and Leandro Trossard and other exciting talents in the team is expected to help the men from Flanders to travel far in this tournament. The Belgianns would not have a smooth ride through this Group with the presence of last edition finalist; Croatia. The Croatia comes to this World with a widely experienced midfield trio of Marcelo Brozovic, Mateo Kovacic and Opera Master Luka Modric. It seems that Belgium and Croatia would most likely qualify from the group but the Morocans and Candians should never be underated.

Brazillians are always favourites in every world cup. This world cup may be Neymar swan song, thus he will want to carry the weight of the team on his shoulders. The Brazilians are also blessed in all departments of the game. Neymar would most likely by flanked by Rodrygo and Vinicious Jnr, two of the most exciting talents in World football. From the goal keeping department to the attack, most likely to be led by Richarlison, the Brazilians have a deep squad that would give their opponents sleepless nights.

However, it would not be a stroll in the pack for the Brazilians because their opponents are equally well armed and prepared. The Serbians have a Midfield well marshalled by Serge Milenkovic Savic and two very expereiened, potent and in-form strilkers viz Alexander Mitrovic and Dusan Vlahovic. The Cameroun would be bringing to the party, the indefatigable African Spirit and unpredictability of the indomitable lions. The Swiss on their on part have a team no one can just write off.

Qatar 2022 would undoubtedly be Christiano Ronaldo last World Cup. He would want to do great stuff and leave a lasting memory in the mind of his fans worldwide. The Portugese team is equaly blessed with an array of exciting talents. The team is not lacking in any department, but they would also contend with the incredibly talented Uruguay team led by veterans of aggressive defending; Diego Godin and Jose Maria Jimenez.

The Uruguayian would also be banking on the goal scoring skills and craftiness of an aging Luis Suarez. In recent time Luis Suarez have been supplanted by Darwin Nunez of Liverpool a goal scorer of no-mean repute. The foraging play of Federico Valverde in the Uruaguayian midfield would be a handful for any time to contend with.

The Ghanians would never forget how Luis Surez denied them a place in the Semi Final of the World Cup in South Africa in 2010, now they would be confronting the Uruguayian team with revenge in their mind. The Ghanian would want to deny the South Americans a place in the round of 16. The Ghanian team is peopled with exciting young talents and also a visionary young African Coach. The black Stars would be one team the African continent would be looking up to; to project the African Pride. The ever exciting South Koreans would be bring to the table their own brand of attacking and high pressing football. Aside from Portugal, it will be too close to call the other team that would make it to the next round.

Jose Gaya of Valencia FC, one of the defenders in the Spaniah team have been ruled out of the Qatar 2022 World Cup due to injuries.

His replacement will be announced soon.
