You all above me blaming ASUU should keep quiet and ask yourself why is the government acting Corning in resolving ASUU crisis? Compare how much was budgeted for election and other projects and ask yourself is election more important than education? Or the amount the Nigeria govt use in purchasing vehicles to Niger republic and other silly expenditures like redesigning naira, you guys need to start thinking if this government take education seriously enough to start defending them, Buhari govt is not the first to experience ASUU strike no other government has ever implemented no work no pay rules they quickly negotiate and allow the academic activities resume

Bigchristo, don't mind all the folks blaming ASUU joor.

ASUU, should please resume their strike joor, let's teach this Government and APC a good lesson.

ASUU should resume their strike and never call it off until after 2023 elections.

If APC wins the Presidency, they should continue the Strike, atleast that way, we can paint the APC government bad and ASUU will be Praised.

Very soon NMA should join too.

It seems na to privatise the Universities and let students be paid allowances that can help offset the fees

Ogbeni, relax

Even if they allocate billions to the universities, they will loot some, if not most. Ask yourself, who are those used as INEC returning officers?
Who are those that can be bought by politicians to alter election results?

I guess you know they are ASUU members.

Now ask again, can ASUU leadership give account of billions given to them by TETFUND? They don't mention these kind of funds when they strike.

Yes education is expensive and needs funding, but don't believe everything that the current ASUU is fighting for the universities and students welfare, it may be for personal interest.
They have succeeded to increase retirement age to 70, but will they swear they will work in full capacity at that age?
There are lots of things on this ASUU/FG fight

ASUU did not need to call on stakeholders and well meaning Nigerians, if the strike is the best solutions to solve the problem, go ahead.

There must be a permanent solution to ASUU/FG once and for all.

I share same views with you. ASUU should stop blackmailing FGN and weeping public sentiment. Enough of their crocodile tears. No work, no pay is the way to go if Nigeria must move forward. If the union has shame, it should cater for its members for the period of the eight month strike lasted.
Beyond this, if ASUU insist on the payment of their members salaries, it should indemnify the students all parties that suffered losses during their strike.

As much as I'm not in support of truce breaking, out lecturers need to behave smarter than the government. There are better ways of pressing ones demand than an industrial action.

You didn't work for eight months why should you be paid? A better way of going about it will have been to teach the students, examine them but don't release their results. This alone will cause a graduation crisis, NYSC crisis, labor market crisis. The students and their guardians will be the once pressing governments neck. As a lecturer you can't be accused of not working.

ASUU are greedy and self centered fools. How can u refuse to work for 8 months and expect pay. If they are truly fighting for the common man this ur approach is the best. They turned strike to a yearly affairs. If other Unions in the country embark on strike like ASUU even the lecturers will find it hard to survive. Doctor, Police, Military,Lawyers, Electricity and many other Unions find a better approach than embarking on 8 months.
I want Buhari and Ngige to further deal with them. No work, No pay

Buhari is collecting salary as the minister of petroleum, what do you have to say about that?

No pun intended but I’m sure several lecturers who have now turned beggars because of the misleading actions of their current ASUU chairman, are willing to knock out his teeth for calling for another strike action. His misdeed was to assume that , as the status quo, they will be paid for sitting at home for eight months. Several had collected loans and promised to pay back when the government pays them for doing nothing for eight months. They are educated and therefore should know that blackmailing a government, whose priority is not education, is just shooting your self in the foot.

ASUU embarked on strike because federal government renegade on the agreement reached with the union. Having waited for the implementation of these agreements to no avail, they resulted to strike as Las option to drive home their demands. This resolution was after peaceful and diplomatic approach failed to address the issues.
If we agree on '' no work no pay clause '' as federal government says, what if these Lecturals decide to skip the previous work loads and jump to the new work load (a situation where about to graduate students, newly intake and those that suppose to move to the next academic level would be abandoned and start with 2022 /2023 academic year?)
We just have to be balanced and fair in our judgment.
If government had implemented the agreement, their wouldn't have been any room for strike in the first place.

Like Seriously. You spoke me mind my brother. How do one explain this, people who are teaching moral, they themselves are immoral. How can you reap what you did not sow,let the past eight months of strikes be bye gone, let's look ahead for a new beginning. Too much of everything is bad. Your incessant strikes is making your association more of agberos than academicians!

Until it is amended, the law is the law!

All laws must be obeyed by everybody, including the FG.
