Re: What Exactly Is "boko Haram" Fighting For? by MyVicky: 2:15am On Aug 29, 2011
They claim to be fighting Western education; however, they use western cars, western clothing, western houses, western guns, western food, western roads, western materials, western mobile phones, western EVERYTHING (Execept their lives which is God's). They are just a bunch of paranoids, delusionists & cabals motivated by the foundation laid by the original founder of their religious belief.

They are fighting for the freedom to remain stvpid. IMHO, it should be granted and they can join Niger or Chad.

@op,

They are faceless to us, but the authorities have been in negotiation with them and so they have some knowledge of who speaks for BH.

They want political separation from everything non-Sharia sanctioned.
Re: What Exactly Is "boko Haram" Fighting For? by OvieE: 2:18am On Aug 29, 2011
I don't care what they are fighting for. Lets just wipe all those piece of shiit out of the country. They do nothing but create one problem after the other. The north introduce all source of practice including corruption into Nigeria.

This conversation happened between my estate mai guard (a muslim man in his 60s from Kano) and I this afternoon. This was the first time of seeing him since the UN attack in Abuja last Friday.

Me: "Alhaji, how u dey? U go soon end ur fast abi?"
Mai Guard: "We dey o. na tomorrow."
Me: "Alhaji, u don hear wetin happen for abuja?"
Mai Guard: "yes now."
Me: "Which kind thing be dat?"
Mai Guard: "yes now, when u no go do good thing, god dey see am sef. wen u say people no go get something, e go dey happen na." I didn't understand what he was driving at, so I asked him to explain what he meant, and I stayed on to listen.
Mai Guard: "You see am for dat election so, na Buhari win. Yes now, na im win am for election." Goose pimples spread over my skin.
Me: "Haba Alhaji! Who tell u say na Buhari win? For this Lagos who win am? no be Jonathan?"
Mai Guard: "Yes, Jonathan win for lagos, Buhari wind for everywhere. God dey watch everything we dey happen. The man wey dey for court, we go comot Jonathan, in don remove am, everybody dey shout! Dem dey talk am everywhere for radio, BBC" he pointed to his radio sitting on a close by bench.

At this point another car started honking behind me, so I excused my self and drove home, not wanting to engage the mai guard anymore.

Does this tell you guys anything about Boko Haram?

what you've just posted without the benefit of your mai-guard is an open secret.among the top-echelon of people in govt, it's common knowledge.till the day a 'core' northerner becomes head-of-state, this types of occurence would not stop unless GEJ seeks the advice of OBJ on how to end it head-on

Just like corruption in the country. We all know what is right and wrong but chose to always do wrong and look the other way when things are being done wrong! Boko Haram is just a TERRORIST GROUP fighting to kill inocent people for the northern elders/leaders even as they did not ask them to do it directly. But they are all encouraging them indirectly PERIOD

Re: What Exactly Is "boko Haram" Fighting For? by gonzaga: 5:30am On Aug 29, 2011
The truth is this; this fight is all about Jonathan! They are fighting the fact that a christian southerner is now the president period! Forget anything u are told, this is the basic reason for all these bombings and senseless killings. Its just that they cannot table the resignation of Jonathan as one of their demands, thats why u hear funny reasons popping up everyday.

This latest incident happened on Friday, have you heard anything from CPC or ACN or even those that promised to make this country ungovernable if Jonathan becomes the president? But they were all shouting when Salami was legitimately suspended. Is it that the suspension of Salami was more of a national catastrophy than the lives lost in the blast? It baffles me how greedy the typical Nigerian politicians are. There is no national cause that brings them togeather, all issues are viewed from a greedy lense.

Remember when Obj took over in 1999, it was sharia, now its boko haram. Its all stage managed. A typical hausa fulani will never let go of power without a fight. They beleive they were born to rule, irrespective of competence. It's high time the rest of the country stands up in unison to say enough is enough! I just hope when the north takes over in future, the south can also reply with a more deadly insurgency that will make the exporting of even 25 liters of crude oil a day dream. They have set the ugly standard, they must feel it when it's their turn.
Re: What Exactly Is "boko Haram" Fighting For? by hardbody: 5:44am On Aug 29, 2011
When are they bombing third mainland bridge so that the anticipated may start. And i hope d few southerners in the army are not 2 daft to remember to start sending ammunition to the south ooo, let us not be caught unawares like the ojukwu/biafran error. They should also start recruiting and training fighters now rather than conscript young inexperienced boys later. Let us start preparing for the worst and expect that BH and their creators will listen to d voice of reason. We should be ready to mortgage our oil for mass equipment of destructions from d west and if possible, start bringing in the MOSSAD and war mercenaries to start their reconnaisance strategy. These BH guys have a game plan, we should start thinking ahead. IMO-

It tells me that bombing was going on before the election and even on the eve of the elections
And ONLY Jonathan would have benefitted from the postponement of elections

How legitimate? The accusations against was not proved.
We can debate the guilt of Salami or Naron (the one that found in favour of Oyinlola)
But there is no doubt that the supreme court never had the powers to interfere in the Sokoto case and confirm the PDP guy
When is he going to be legitimately disciplined

I will believe what I am told by honest and sincere people

but obasanjo was also a christian southerner.

Exactly!!
So why wasn't boko haram bombing the whole nigeria then

It is obvious that they are not fighting against banishment of western education! At least in my own opinion

From were I stand it looks like revenge for execution of their leader, one of the reasons
Politically motivated(but people let's please leave buhari out of this)
Illiteracy and ignorance(both Islamic and western)
Influenced by external interest(western gov, CIA AKA al qaeda)
Poverty and unemployment(frustration)
Oppression(rigging of election)

And so many other factors, they are just using the western education and religious thing as a cover.

Just my thoughts.
