We all see that brother. But even Europe knew that they could be a war possibility, but didn't prepare enough.

Europe are not innocent now or before. If you notice, france is not crying for gas and electricity. They have more than enough. It is mostly eastern Europeans crying because they came late to underwater stealing. Do you know that France's power generation fuel are from Niger republic and Congo; their oil reserve were mostly taken from congo and bakassi peninsula. But France is selling electricity and some gas to many parts of Europe.

These and many European countries like Asian countries too, are about themselves. They also get some of their oil from stealing under the noses of many olodo african countries. For example, they come to Nigeria buy an agreed amount of oil, because Nigeria is not really an engineering savvy country, we will have to use say france drilling equipments, so are you expecting them to tell us that they pumped 1 million barrels, when they actually pumped 3 million barrels a day. Imagine filling station that don't have flow control telling you to come with your own nozzle and pay them what you pumped, but they don't know how to verify your quantity.

There are also the cases of countries going under water to drill and weld lines to undiscovered oil and gas spots in naive african countries. They send their tanker submarines, load their goods, turn off the valve, come back again and do the same thing, now, these are unreported drilling sites. Meanwhile french or china or whoever, will dash the african country one big boat for sea patrol, but already know the characteristics of that patrol ship or drone, so they have supervisory control of those gadgets. They can hack them to their advantage at any time especially when their above sea and under sea vessels are stealing in any area of interest.

Meanwhile, almost every village/community can boast of at least one of their own who is living and doing well in the US.
