The Ijaw National Council has urged President Jonathan to relocate the seat of government to Niger Delta over insecurity in Abuja. They claimed that having the nation's capital in a Niger Delta state would stop the incessant strikes of the Islamic sect, Boko Haram, who have turned their attention to Abuja.

I even heard that the British High Commission may soon relocate from Abuja to Lagos state over the insecurity in Abuja.

Relocate to the Niger Delta? I agree. They should relocate it to either Imo or Abia.

Just a way of telling GEJ to start preparing for a split. They are actually saying that GEJ should send down resources to build a capital for Niger Delta Republic!

Not relocate but pack and split sounds good enough.Split the country and let the ND,Odua,Biafrans and any others have there country.
Split should not be a do or die.Simply would help us realize and work more with what all the new entities have abound.
I am tired of being demonized and being seen to mean something am not always.Why be with someone who feels all you mean is bad to him.
they are tired of having to do with the north and so are we. Why the forced romance!!! Personally is not worth the stress.
So a split is far better.As we remain so so so different that i trust someone from outside the country than my next door neighbors.

History shows that merger solves problems more than division.Nigeria needs two capital cities.One in Abuja and another in Yenagoa.

The main reason the capital was moved from Lagos to Abuja was security. After Murtula Mohammed was assasinated in Lgos in the 1970's they decided to move it to a more peaceful city and covered it up. Now Abuja is no longer peaceful where else to run?

Actually, I'd prefer the capital to stay in the North. I wouldn't like to see the hustle and bustle of politicians and the presidential buzz around the Eastern part of Nigeria (ND).
