The person that earn 20k a month but spends 6k early last year will now be spending 12k on transportation and subsidy is believed to be in place still and his salary will not increase.

What bcoms of him when subsidy is removed?

Removing the PMS subsidy is a tough call that has to be made.

As for your question, that's where palliatives come in.

Unfortunately, people keep electing idiots to lead this country and such decisions have dire consequences.

Both the rich and poor contributed to this mess.

PS: I'll mention you in one of my comments

This has nothing to do with protests.

Let's stop deceiving ourselves in Nigeria.

Petrol subsidy needs to go because we are losing so much to it.

The government just needs to come up with paliatives to cushion its harsh effect.
U sabi talk abi. Petrol subsidy have to go blablabla......... Have they now removed the subsidy that they will now say it is because of the subsidy they removed that's why there is high cost of petrol all over the country?

How much do u know is a litre of diesel, Kerosene and cooking gas now? The money they are getting from the the sales of diesel, Kerosene and cooking gas, what have they done with it for them to now be insisting that the one on petrol should go also?

Abeg make una leave matter for this country jor. This subsidy nonsense of a thing na all talk. Nigeria governments nor serious right from independence till today.

there is going to be massive protest. your speaking grammar. fuel price is one of it .

Why not leave the protest till June when Peter obi wins?

Paying petrol subsidy doesn't make sense at all. No matter the amount of protest, it's not economically wise at all. I wonder the govt that started that nonsense.

Past govt and the present one have been clueless on how to tackle this.

But my biggest question that I have not had answer to is that " Is it rocket science for Nigeria govt to have at least 2 functional refineries or the people benefitting from the fuel subsidy are bigger than Nigerian govt. Same with power generation. The thing just taya me. This present administration lied that they will fix the refineries, it's 7yrs and 7 months now and nothing to show for it.

Good luck Jonathan, God will continue to bless, keep and preserve you wherever you find yourself. He meant well for this nation. Refineries were working at least, we were refining a percentage of what we were consuming. He wanted to remove subsidy, they refused. Now they have destroyed everything and acting as if they fixed anything. The forthcoming polls will tell the percentage of sane people in this nation. You can't kill a dead man twice but you can bury him multiple times....

We no even get to buy for here. The fueling stations stare back at me as moribund ATMs on Sundays.

Just like Peter Obi always says, Nigéria, admittedly, has bad leadership. However, the followers, according to him, are as bad as the leaders.

For instance, among all our neighbours, Nigeria has the cheapest PMS price due to subsidy. Unfortunately, greedy Nigerians, especially those who live in border towns, keep moving the product outside the country to sell to her neighbours to make more money.

You buy #2 and sell at #4 or a little higher than #2. Like a people without values, Nigeria is a terrible society. This means that Nigeria is subsidizing the product for her citizens and her neighbours.

These are the issues.

Look at how comfortable everyone has become with this hardship brought in by APC and Buhari, you all forgot that we where once buying fuel at #65 and when it was increased to #87 we almost burn down the country.. but now it was increased to #145 and above, nobody said anything because it is not an Igbo or a South South man that is in power, the Yoruba's and Hausa's that condemned Goodluck Jonathan for selling fuel at #87 are all silent that fuel is been sold at #250, #350 and above. It should be noted that this Country was destroyed by a Northern and a Western Nigerian man, I spit on the head of all these urchins who brought in this disaster to destroy this country

It's really getting out hand daily knowing fully well that you have to buy fuel at high cost plus heavy queue. The funniest part of it is that no one say nothing and my people will still vote for the players and wicked again.

I just bought fuel about 30mins ago at NNPC station, Alakahia Port Harcourt @ N350 a litre.

I made sure I asked the attendant why NNPC should sell @ N350 a litre. Her reply was " na wetin we buy for depot". undecided

That particular NNPC na nonsense. The one at Eleme Junction is still selling N179, but the queue is long.

Eterna on Aba Road sells N270, but only for about 2 or 3 hours a day.

It's quite unfortunate that people don't do tests to prove their eligibility for internet access. That's why we have a lot of Nigerian e-cretins all over the space.
