AKURE BOLT DRIVERS EMBARK ON 7-DAY WARNING STRIKE

Bolt drivers in Akure, the Ondo State capital has embarked on a 7-day warning strike to press home their demand for fair and just treatment from @Boltapp_ng, @boltapp. The strike action which enters its 3rd day today has left many bolt riders in the city stranded and frustrated.

The strike notice which was contained in a letter signed by all Akure Bolt drivers and addressed to @Boltapp_ng
@boltapp, partly reads:

"Sequel to our penultimate letter to you about a fortnight ago, stating our displeasure about the unpleasant working condition that we have been subjected to by your inhumane business trajectory, we have assumed that your failure of compliance to our request is a way of saying that our pleas have fallen to deaf ears and this action has left us with no option than going into a 7-day strike to collapse every activity of Bolt in Akure, starting from today until you rescind the status quo! "

The drivers are calling for a review of e-cab fares to reflect the current economic realities and high fuel cost in the country as well as other unjust treatments meted out to them by Bolt App.

Dozens of Bolt riders in Akure are currently appealing to the e-hailing company to quickly reach amicable resolutions with the drivers for normalcy to be restored. Various comments have been posted by the concerned riders on the Bolt Facebook page intimating the e-hailing company of the strike action. In its reaction to these posts, Bolt assured the riders that the situation was being attended to by the relevant teams.
