Lagos’s governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, reports that the state has received two brand-new train sets for the project’s initial phase.

On Monday, Sanwo-Olu revealed this in a tweet.

The Lagos Strategic Transport Master Plan calls for six rail lines and monorails, including the Blue Line Project (STMP). For ease of implementation, the construction has been broken up into phases. When the entire line is finished, it is anticipated to move more than 500,000 passengers.

Mile 2, Suru-Alaba, Orile Iganmu, National Theatre, and Marina are the five stops along the first phase’s 13-kilometer route from Marina to Mile 2. A daily capacity of around 200,000 passengers is anticipated.

“We have taken delivery of two new train sets for the blue line rail,’ the tweet reads.

“These passenger trains have been cleared at the port of entry, and have been moved to the National Theatre station where they have been lifted onto the elevated rail tracks.
