Kukah stated this while featuring on the Channels TV programme, Politics Today on Wednesday.

The Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Most Rev Matthew Kukah, says that no Nigerian should be undecided about the candidates to vote for in the February presidential election, considering the abundance of problems facing the country at present.

Kukah stated this while featuring on the Channels TV programme, Politics Today on Wednesday.

The cleric stressed that there should be a vigorous battle among Nigerians to overcome cynicism.

He said, “Why would anybody be undecided about hunger? Why would anybody be undecided about insecurity? Why would anybody be undecided over the fact that they don’t seem to know where the next meal is going to come from?

“Why would anybody be undecided over the fact that there are no jobs? Why would anybody be undecided about that? So, there needs to be a vigorous battle to overcome cynicism."

Kukah advised Nigerians to lower their expectations on political choices and opined that there is no such thing as “the right candidate” in elections, as that might be a projection of one’s emotions.

According to him, the real challenge should be how prepared the people are to engage with the politicians after they have been elected into office. He said this is where civil society, trade unions, town unions, groups, media and religious bodies are needed.

Kukah asserted that without engagements, politicians will always take the people for granted. He argued that the Nigerian situation is made worse by the fact that those in power cripple institutions.

On the provision of adequate security during the election, the cleric stated that Africa is known for violence during elections, insisting that such activities are almost inevitable.

He said the automatic change and improved quality of life of politicians after assuming office make them fight tooth and nail to win elections just for the pecks of the office.

Kukah said if it is all about service, most politicians canvassing for votes might have been doing something else that would give them better income.

Why would anybody be undecided about the fact that urchins are pushing 4 a candidate who will disgrace us in UN General assembly by speaking in the language of 'gazelle gagaraga'?

If you study Kukah body language since Tinubu emerged as the presidential candidate of APC, you can see that the man do not buy into the Muslim-Muslim propaganda nonsense.

If it was before, he would have been very vocal against someone like APC Tinubu but it it be senseless to attack Tinubu as a religious fanatics. So those selling the dummy of religion are finding it hard to maintain the momentum.

Ever since he invited Tinubu to his birthday event and with how personal Tinubu spoke about their relationship, the Bishop is always careful in his delivery with respect to the candidates.

After eight years of Buhari's vacant, dementia-plagued presidency, the last thing Nigeria needs is another presidency that will double down on it, that would be conducted through dishonest press releases by presidential spokespersons, paid social media troll farms, and TV appearances by deviously mercenary mind managers.
https://www.farooqkperogi.com/2022/10/why-is-bola-tinubu-hiding-in-london.html?m=1

In 2015, Buhari was hardly a promising candidate, but things were not supposed to be this bad. The man did not solve any problem but worsened everything with his impotence and sadistic arrogance. That was a leader Tinubu helped install twice & we're supposed to trust his judgement again? No!

After the monumental disaster called Buhari, Nigeria cannot afford another leader whose driving motivation for the presidency is to merely fulfil a lifelong dream. Tinubu has a right to pursue his ambition but not at the expense of poor and long-suffering Nigerians already counting down to the days when Buhari’s nuisance will be escorted out of Aso Rock.

The 2023 election should be a turning point. Recruiting another bumbler as president jeopardises that chance. We can all agree that Nigeria deserves better than a candidate without a viable record of administrative success beyond the cheap propaganda retailed in the media and parroted by those who do not listen to their own thoughts before mouthing them

We can only continue to play politics of ethnicity, religion, region and money bags at the peril of our country and to self-destruction. We need selfless, courageous, honest, patriotic, in short, outstanding leadership with character and fear of God beyond what we have had in recent past.

None of the contestants is a saint but when one compares their character, antecedent, understanding, knowledge, discipline and vitality that they can bring to bear. The great efforts required to stay focused on the job particularly looking at where the country is today and with the experience on the job that I personally had, Peter Obi as a mentee has an edge.

Others like all of us have what they can contribute to the new dispensation to liberation, restoration and salvaging of Nigeria collectively. One other important point to make about Peter is that he is a needle with thread attached to it from North and South and he may not get lost. In other words, he has people who can pull his ears, if and when necessary. Needless to say that he has a young and able running mate with clean track record of achievement both in public and private life.
MY APPEAL TO ALL NIGERIANS PARTICULARLY YOUNG NIGERIANS

I like this point.

The president we need is someone who has the mastery of dialogue with all fabrics of the society. You need a team player and someone who understand the terrain of the diverse interests in Nigeria.

Buhari is a man who is non-corrupt and plain but they showed him shege coz you have to understand how to deal with diverse characters and play their game to make success in a country like Nigeria.

If you like bring Obama, he will fail if he doesn’t understand the local terrain.

The ruling party is also bent on foisting on Nigeria, a very sick and feeble presidential candidate in the person of Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Let’s not even go into his multiple scandals-from allegations of drug dealing to alleged certificate forgery....Eight years of the APC has dug Nigeria deeper into poverty and is now the poverty capital of the world

Even if candidate Tinubu were not a sickly frail man of indeterminate age, nomenclature, and lineage, it would still be frightening for him to be strut around (more like propped around), a lord unto himself. So, does Nigeria need another Buhari, who’s lord unto himself? If anyone was in doubt Tinubu promised to continue Buhari’s legacy. God forbid a bad thing!
https://www.thecable.ng/of-town-halls-and-balablu-blu-blu-bulaba/amp

The troubles with Bola Tinubu’s candidacy are enormous. Some are within his control, while others are not. No candidate for the presidency of Nigeria has ever come into the campaign with much political baggage as Tinubu, not even Muhammadu Buhari. We can find in three folds everything wrong with Muhammadu Buhari in Bola Tinubu.

The self-inflicted personal baggage of Tinubu is well known to all. His inability to present a straight biography is one of them. Nothing about him is straightforward; his age, his name, his certificates, his schools (primary, secondary, university), his parents, his source of wealth, the state of his health, his ever-changing ideology, etc. Even his classmates are unknown.

Though possession of a crooked biography has never stopped anyone from being the president of Nigeria, the case of Tinubu is so egregious. They are coming at a point when Nigerians are less tolerant of such character flaws.

It does not help that more and more Nigerians are beginning to see the correlation between such flaws and the performance of the bearer, as Muhammadu Buhari exemplified.

There's actually no right candidate in an election.

Being the right candidate is a matter of one's perception and sentiment. Your 'right candidate' might be my wrong candidate.

What is important for considerations though is the preparedness, capacity and competence of the candidate. So in this case we'll all agreed that Tinubu is ahead.

Obi is an accidental candidate who's in the race by circumstances & expediency.

Tinubu has laid the foundation of Town Hall meetings, which zombidients were once making a mockery of. Today, Peter Obi has abandoned jumping from TV interviews to copying Asiwaju's town hall model. Tinubu leads, others follow.

The only foundational legacies Bola Ahmed Tinubu has laid include;

-1). Drug Running/Addiction. This is what he forfeited a staggering $460, 000 in a US Court in order to avoid prosecution, conviction and jail. This is what his empire of owomida miscreants have adopted in Lagos

-2).The overt rejection of the FOI act that subsequent LASG have never adopted to ensure accountability and transparency in government. Hence the multi-bullions being embezzled via Alpha-Beta conduit pipe to Burdillion.

-3). The enactment of the outrageous stupendious retirement benefits of past Lagos governors that has only left the state enmeshed in spurious debts despite being the largest revenue generating base of the nation. Other State governments have long copied this satanic policy which have continued to drain the nation of resources.

-4). The Tinubu legacy of building a large network or empire of touts, thugs, agberoes, brigands and other anti-social miscreants will forever remain a negative one that will be remembered.

These criminals have contributed in no small measure to make life difficult for the inhabitants of the city. Then just imagine if this were to be replicated on a national scale.

Is local government allocation not part of Lagos allocation?. If LGs are starved of funding, how would development get there?. The problem of SE is illiteracy. And why did the Supreme Court ordered FG to pay back Lagos Government the allocations?.

Lagos state is lagos and should only get Lagos state allocation , and the governor only receives states allocation

Local government allocation goes to the local government and if there is dispute CBN takes over the money and saves it till the dispute is resolved

A governor makes excuse for lack of local government funds is suspect that he wants to control it which is against the law

This is my problem with most Christians, very vague and stupid people. If Obi picked another Christian as Vice, No single Muslim will support him but see this Catholic fool speaking in parable instead of speaking out. This man is a very serious disgrace to the office he is occupying. A very serious disgrace. An embarrassment to the kingdom of God.
