Made A Transfer To A Wrong Account by GhostRider1991: 9:24am On Jan 16, 2023
Good day NL, I don't know the right session to post this

I made a transfer of #10,100 yesterday 15/01/2023 to a palmpay account , I missed the number by one digit, I called the number (account number is same as phone number) to explain to the owner, it was a lady, she denied that she doesn't use palmpay, I asked her if the name on the palmpay account was hers, she said yes

Now my question is that, is it possible for someone else to open an account using another person's name and phone number, because I'm very sure she or her husband saw the money because I also talked to her husband

I used opay account for the transfer, I have her pictures, email address and the transaction receipt, I wanted to let it slide but she threatened that she has reported the matter to SCID, should I also go and report the matter to SCID here, I'm sure we live in two different places states or I should just ignore

Thank you

Moral of the story;

Never make bank transfers when you're drunk or high.

If you can afford to let 10,100 naira slide, then fine.
But If you really want to get the money back, you may have to spend over 17,000 naira to retrieve the money.

It would be safe to let it slide for your sanity and peace of mind...next time, be more careful.

Did he mention being high or drunk?

I'm not even interested in getting the money, my concern is that she threatened to have reported to SCID

Anyways, thank you, I'll let it slide

I was not drunk or high, my only mistake was that I didn't confirm the name before making the transfer

Sometime ago, someone mistakenly sent me #90000 instead of #900, I returned the money, the person wasn't drunk either
