The subject is self-explanatory. I believe strongly that even despite the short time we have left, we can win over many many more people who may still be sitting on the fence at the moment, for reasons that they are very well entitled to.

Of a truth, the overwhelmimg majority of Nigerians are tired of the status quo. We are passionate about having the Nigeria of our dreams unfold before our eyes. Not all of us can or need to japa, therefore, I can understand that we are angry, tired, and determined to show the traducers that seek to hold this country hostage in perpetuity, that enough is enough and that power indeed RESTS with the people.

Just as we screamed it out in Oct 2020 via the #endsars movt, we are now screaming for a change in the unhealthy and unwholesome status quo through Peter OBI, as it is our right to do so. BUT, WE MUST DO SO WITH LOVE, DECORUM AND CIVILITY. Vawulence is allowed, sometimes, but it isn't called for all the time!

I am a Yoruba man who believes in fairness and believe it is time that Igbos are allowed to lead. I am Obidient 100%, and anyone can check my posts to verify, but some have attacked me without understanding even here on more than one occasion. Even in my person space online or offline, I do the best I can to preach the PO gospel with facts. Eg I have rebutted the 67% Anambra poverty rate that the opposition were peddling no thanks to Soludo, by pointing out to them in their own peddled article that a state like Edo who had Oshiomole as Governor at the time had a worse percentage of 72.5%, and yet people applaud him that he did well. Those are FACTS!. Sharing that little bit of clarity with decorum & depth of understanding, with someone who may be sitting on the fence, may be the little thing that will win them over. Let's espouse good values as we try to win people over and not FASCISM. Again, vawulence may be required sometimes, but not all the time!

Let's not behave like the urchins, rather let's suppress urchins with LOUD facts, not even curse words, and let's with that decorum displayed win over others that may be on the fence or sidelines.

Igbos have a chequered past in the history of this country, truth be told, but past is past. I see 1999 as a reset, and I believe it is about time we had a president of East extraction. Whomever doesn't agree with this should be won over with warmth and decorum..probe and answer their questions with facts, not by bullying or cursing, unless of course said person is a verifiable nuisance grin.

Bottom line, If you push anyone away in your circle online/offline by being too 'extra', it is on you oooo. Be a good and worthy Apostle.

Cheers.

More context below of a convo between me and the respectable Sukkot. If this little convo makes this my bros give us one extra PO vote, that is a plus innit!!

See the big picture!

what structure is holding us captive ? i am a free man. ndi ala
Sukkot, o Sukkot..wetin Obi do you gangan?

APC has failed woefully, PDP failed so much that the APC at the time seemed like angels. Do we now reward failure? Do we reward a brazen insult on our sensibilities called the Muslim-Muslim ticket? Do we allow an invalid become president? Do we allow a northerner become president after 8years rule by a northerner?

Since 1999, when we supposedly had a reset, a Yoruba man has been president for 8years, vice president for 8years, Hausas have been represented there as President and VP unbroken from 1999 to date, Jonathan has had 5 years. I am not a fan of some attributes of Igbos, but that level of marginalisation is just downright abhorrent. PO is my choice, because I believe in fairness and that it is time the Igbos be given a chance. He is the one Igbo man that stands a chance at the moment, and he is the one we have chosen to convey a loud message to the powers that be, that power STILL resides with the people...that and the indubitable fact that he is the lesser evil of the three.

oh let me also add ? i have absolutely nothing against obi. he appears like a decent guy. however there is too much toxicity and fascism surrounding him with his supporters. its like nazi germany energy. extreme fascism. extreme toxicity. extreme bullying. extreme belligerence. extreme pugnacious activity. we just dont need this type of energy in this country. i cant support that. these people are making the atmosphere very oppressive and dangerous. i cant support that bro. i have lived in the west and seen how they do politics peacefully like civilized human beings. i cant return home to support uncivilized barbaric primitive fascism. i just cant. every man has the human and constitutional right to vote for who he or she likes without being bullied or abused or killed for it. i cant support this toxic extreme fascism from obedients. and thats why i cant support peter obi. to be honest with you thats why i even fight back a little in my own way through the nairaland forum. what i do is a form of resistance movement. the resistance against fascism. for me its not tribal. i am resisting fascism
you are right on this. Obidients can be quite 'extra', but not all obidients are like that. I am one, and like I said earlier, most truly just don't know the history, but are really pained by the marginalisation over the years. See it as a cry for help...lol

oh brother Treadway salute to you. Now you need to understand that the type of government we have today was created by igbo. just happens that the they are at the losing end of their own creation. This is the igbo created form of government and it does not involve sharing presidency according to tribe. you see there was regional government before and every region and tribe had their own power. however azikiwe ( who said it is the divine right of the igbo man to rule nigeria ) and ironsi didnt like this idea of power not being in the middle ( because at that time all the top guys in the military was igbo ) and so they both plotted the coup and used nzeogwuu and ifeajuna to do it and every regional leader was supposed to be killed but of course azikiwe who was part of the plan conveniently went to london when they struck. after they struck successfully and killed every other regions leaders then ironsi took over as the president and then banned all regional powers in 1966. so now the ultimate power belonged in the middle to igbo. ironsi had all the power. then they drafted the constitution and removed all secession clauses meaning you can never get out of this unified power headed by igbo. unfortunately for ironsi and azikiwe they didnt see that they are roping us all into fulani dominance because the hausa and fulani have more numbers and if they should takeover under a democrazy with their huge numbers and no secession clause ? they are destined to rule us forever. and thats just what they did, fulani came in and snatched the power from ironsi and unfortunately ironsi and azikiwe have created a constitution and a form of government that only favors the fulani and their friends ( which yoruba are their friends. these two tribes respect each other ). and so thats the situation created by igbo. so they have to live with that consequences. there is no sympathy. they played a game of power acquisition and consolidation and lost. and so power is not given region by region or tribe by tribe, you step up and you take it with your actions and campaigning. nobody owes the igbo man power. he has to try and take it like everbody else. if he hasnt been able to take it back in over fifty years then maybe he needs another strategy and this strategy he is using is not working for him. crying about biafra is not a good strategy. abusing every other tribe is not a good strategy. playing the victim game is not a good strategy and nzogbu nzogbu politics is not a good strategy grin grin

also apc presdidency under buhari will be different from apc presidency under tinubu.
you are right on the history. Truth is, dont be shocked many Igbos don't know this. It is like a bad wife who in truth pushed her husband away. Such a wife will tell a story to her kids about how she is a saint and their dad was a bad bad man, and that is what the children will run with unless they come upon new information otherwise. Yes that past was sordid, but let's consider 1999 as Nigeria pushing the reset button of sorts. Let's give them a second chance.

He raised valid points, and we discussed. No need for vawulence. Are the points he raised not valid or true? They are true!

But, you don't win a fully grown man over to your point of view with intimidation or bullying, kolewrrk! You do it with facts, decorum and depth of understanding...or at least you try to.

Cheers.

see i like a man who can see the facts for what they are without making excuses and just for this your post you have earned my utmost respect and yes i do agree with you that we should cancel the past and regard 1999 as a reset button. i strongly agree with you. we all cant get anywhere fighting and accusing each other. but also we need to stop this politics of abusing each other and victim mentality and like you said if we all agree to the reset then there would be no need to feel like a victim. also if we all understood true history there would be no need to feel like you are a victim. its the ignorance of what actually happened that is causing this unwarranted victim mentality

love your analogy about the wife and husband by the way wink
