Supreme Court Likely To Send CBN Governor To 5 Years In Prison For Contempt by Obidient4Tinubu(f): 5:42am On Feb 12, 2023
When the highest court in the land, the Supreme Court issued a ruling in respect of the new naira policy, it directed the CBN to pause on any deadlines.

Interestingly however, the CBN failed to issue any directive to the deposit money banks or even the general public, indicating compliance and preventing confusion, breakdown of law and order.

As a result, the CBN abandoned Nigerians to their fate with the official information being that the CBN was not disposed to reclining on any deadlines.

While this government has been known for disobedience to court orders, it is to be known that this government has never been disobedient to any ruling of the Supreme Court. The excuse in disobeying court orders has always been that the government has a right to appeal. So, despite the immunity of presidents, they are fully aware of their helplessness on any matter that has been decided by the Supreme Court.

Unfortunately and carelessly, the CBN Governor has failed to realize that he has no immunity and that the ruling of the Supreme Court is in fact supreme and not one to be disobeyed.

On the 15th of February when hearing resumes, the first motion to be moved will be that of contempt of the court by the CBN Governor.

The Supreme Court will have no option but to stand down the main substance of the case to hear this motion, giving the CBN Governor a chance to explain why the court shall not hold him in contempt.

Failure to convince the court, the CBN Governor is most likely to be sentenced to a period of 5 years behind bars whole the president is directed to appoint the most senior deputy to act as CBN Governor pending the appointment of a substantive replacement.

There are many ways to kill a cat, and unfortunately, the CBN Governor is allowing himself to be led to the gallows by the same people who had planned to take him down a month ago.

It will be wisdom if he can hurriedly issue a backdated directive to all DMBs urging compliance with the Supreme Court ruling.

Opinion.

I stand to be corrected but this CBN governor appears to be the worst in the history of Nigeria. The % increase in the exchange rate of the naira to the dollar is the highest under any CBN governor. He actually opened the CBN vaults to himself and cabals with consequential effect on the masses. Forensic audit should be carried out on both The CBN and NNPC irrespective of who wins the election. These 2 organisations swum in unprecedented corruption during this Buhari administration.

Foolish reasoning, op go get a job and make your self useful cause hate will kill you if you are not careful

Supreme Court has lost its relevance

How can a court of that level descend so low to say senate president is the rightful owner of the ticket of a contest he never participated in

Respect is not given but it’s earned

Neither the CBN nor Emefiele are parties to the suit, Kaduna and Zamfara only sue the FG, and the interim injuction was directed at the Federal government.

I have been searching the web but cannot find any CBN governor worse than Emefiele. He destroyed the reputation of this country, his family, his Agbor town and his generation. He should be in jail by now for many reasons. The worst of the reasons being economic sabotage. From the best CBN governor Sanusi being replaced with the worst, it shows that when you do injustice on some good person, God punishes you with the most terrible person. All over the world, Sanusi was known as one of the best CBN governors. He was the best in Africa. Then a corrupt Jonathan regime removed him because he blew the whistle that Jonathan’s girlfriend Deziani was stealing NNPC money. Now we are being punished by God with the worst. And some IPOB terrorists will never stop crying and wailing about the loss of Jonathan at election. In saner climes, Jonathan should also be in jail by now. May God save us from this calamity of Emefiele and forgive our sin which our leader Jonathan committed at the time.

Op cbn is not a party to the suit but fed govt. If cbn was joined in the suit then the case will start at the high court. The fed govt was sued so the onus rest on buhari to instruct the cbn to suspend deadlines. If there is anyone that should go to prison it's buhari but the question is who wan send buhari go prison?

The Fed. Govt. already said they are obeying court orders. But if an organ of government refuses to obey government position, then that organ can be punished by the court through their extended power. It should have been government punishing the CBN governor. But the court can do so because the original instructions emanated from the court.

On 15 wen hearing resumes the SC will vacate its earlier order and refuse to entertain the suit for the reason that it lacks jurisdiction to hear such matters. They know what they are doing that is why they are silent.

Lol.....the supreme court didn't order the CBN, they ordered the FG. Hence carry your complaints to the FG, or you can deposit your cash in the supreme court account. They will give you new notes....😂😂
