The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, has urged Nigerians to be patient with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) over the redesigned currency, saying it has “some significant long-term economic and social benefits.”

Mr Obi made the appeal in a tweet on Sunday morning.

“I urge Nigerians to bear with the CBN and Federal Government with the hope that the general populace and Nigeria will harvest the gains that will come with the reforms,” Mr Obi said in the tweet.

“The currency redesign is not peculiar to Nigeria. It is an exercise that comes with some inconvenience and pain but it has significant long-term economic and social benefits. Even though there are improvements that can be made,” said Mr Obi, who was the chairman of Fidelity Bank before becoming the governor of the South-east state of Anambra......"

Naira redesign is a good policy. Bad implementation is what is wrong.

As usual, your cowardice on display. When will you blame Buhari?

See the professor of economics. How do you export products to neighboring countries if you don't open your borders?

The joke is on you.

Nigeria shouldn't be a Lagos State (seaport) Economy. All of us not living or doing business in Lagos State that export our peeled melon to Cameroon through Akwaibom/Cross River borders should close business. Okwa ya? Evil men

Typical BAT supporter. If you want to travel from Nigeria to Benin republic, you will use seaport to travel?

Like Obi, like his supporters, they like arguing most on topic they have no clue about.

So since our borders have been closed, you mean Nigerians have not been crossing Nigeria-Benin borders or those who are traveling to Ghana don't make use of the border?

You people should stop exposing una half baked education online. The borders was closed mainly to tackle the importation of any how good and services into Nigeria not movement of people

You said we have other borders apart from Land borders for export and my question is where and how do I get my peeled melon to Cameroon 🇨🇲 for sale without stress? Akwaibom/Cross River land borders are the best for us in the East. What better alternatives are you suggesting apart from Lagos Seaport?

The problem with some of you people is you like to derail from topic of discussion.

If this thread is about Peter Obi wrong support about the failed naira redesign, why not stick to that discussion without talking about one border or not.

Peter Obi is a perennial potential loser who knows nothing about governance.

Know that and have peace of mind

Naira redesign was APC, Buhari and Tinubu policy and not Peter Obi policy.

If you have questions kindly direct it to TINUBU or Buhari.
