All the league of Imam in Yoruba land should spend 20 years to explain the concept of "Tawheed" to their congregation. It is even better if they don't mix the sermon with something else. After morning prayer, the sermon should be centered on "Tawheed".

In the afternoon, if there will be sermon, it should be "Tawheed." In the night, if there should be any, it should centre on the concept of "Tawheed." Many of us only pray. We don't know what preceeds prayers. Is there any shop you will enter in this part of the world where you will not see "Asoro" in the upper case of the threshold?

You will see Imam with incision "Gbere" all over his body. You will see clerics burning cat alive. You will see Naibul Imam with "Ifunpa and Ounde." You will see Alfa chasing lizard back and forth to prepare enchantment. That is too cumbersome.

There is a popular tree in my hometown. They call it "Igi Ose". Both Muslim and Christian are patronising the tree. I recently saw the tree when I visited my family house. The tree has become a shrine. You will see Calabash. You will see different kinds of clothes. You will people's photos. When you investigate the people using the tree for supernatural things, you will realise your clerics will be part of them.

On the day of Resurrection, many of us will stand before God and realise all the prayers we do in our lifetime is effort in futility. We don't believe in God. We only fake it. It is better you start telling people you are Babalawo than showing people what you are not.

If you know what some people put inside the shop where they sell, you will think they will not die. Your forefathers that even own the charm is no more. Why depicting yourself as someone that will not die? Let us check the Islam we do. There is no need to be a Muslim when it is obvious we are not ready to abandon our traditional rites.

Aku Ipalema Ramadan! May God spare our lives till then.
