A married woman sent a message to her male friend for financial assistance without the consent of the husband...the male friend sent her the money and the wife did not tell the husband for over a month until the husband got to know by himself..The husband has a job...and wondering why the wife will do that ...as the husband goes extra mile for the wife financially.and..The husband became really upset and he doesn't hide anything from his wife.

In that kind of scenario, what do you think the husband should do

It is very wrong fa....why embarrass the husband like that. He better talk to her about how it made him feel and reach out to the friend to thank and sorta joke about it if they have the friend in common. All this greedy discontented spouses sef na wa. It makes the husband appear incompetent.

make her see reasons why asking third parties for money while he is still alive is insulting to his personality and their marriage and warn her never to repeat such foolish mistakes again.

It's like Nigerians don't respect their marriages. It's only in Nigeria that someone will be married yet have friends of the opposite sex at the same time. Learn to keep your marriages sacred, people.

In civilized climes, marriage is not seen as shackles to restrict one to having friends of only ones gender. I mean the real world does not look like that at all so why does marriage have to be an image that does not mirror the world around it? undecided

The husband (that is you) should do investigation to know the extent of his wife's relationship with the dude. Because most guys wouldn't part with their hard-earned money without making an exchange.Thereafter, he should be wary of the woman and monitor her very well.

It's embarrassing but I'm more interested in why she hid it from her husband for that long.

Sometimes when life gets tough, a married woman may be tempted to reach out to friends for help without the knowledge of her husband.

But in such a situation and if she has nothing else to hide, she should tell him everything afterwards and the husband is expected to understand.

If the male helper is a mutual friend, he too would channel the help through the husband as mark of respect.

Per your question. If there is nothing attached to the kind gesture, please let the issue slide. Madam might simply be trying to help.

Only a greedy and insatiable woman would do this...if you decide to investigate what she used that money for, you'll be disappointed to find out that it might be to enhance her looks and not for the upkeep of the family.

That woman needs to be serious reprimanded cos if she continues on this path, she's most likely going to cheat on her husband.

OP are you the husband?

The extra mile might not be enough for what the lady needs. Moreover it was a financial assistance and not a loan.

Over time, some married women (including church members, former classmates, neighbors, colleagues etc.) have asked me for help. I may not see some of them for life and I don't have any ulterior motive for helping when I can. It is up to the ladies to decide whether or not to tell their husbands and I think only few will tell their husbands.
