When Jonathan removed this subsidy years ago and fuel was N140, all the nigerian GOs + politicians entered the street in the name of protest.

But I wonder how Nigerians are now enjoying fuel even at N200 today
Same propaganda of 2014/2015 is still at play today. Sadly, many people played into their hands. I got introduced to an APC whatsapp group. I was shocked what these people were spreading in propaganda. I had to later exit the group. Now we can see how wonderfully baba had performed, by resetting Nigeria 50 years backward.

Some of Jonathan's programmes were youth-focused. I know who became entrepreneurs through this, numerous to mention without connections. What have youths benefited during the apc's administration? Nothing. When I say the pdp is the only truly democratic and national party in Africa, I mean it. We had a robust economy when Jonathan was in government with sound economic team. Each time anyone mentions this, the apc would be swift in their reaction and be saying Nigeria experienced economic boom when Jonathan was in government cos crude was selling for almost 120usd a barrel. Here we are today, our crude had jumped to a reasonable amount per barrel for sometime now but with little or nothing to show for it. They're not even talking about it anymore. Dollar keeps soaring. It almost got to 910 naira at a time. They say the amount of money they pay in subsidy which they once called a scam, was huge. Foreign Airlines have reduced in number now cos they can't retract their money from ticket sales to their home country.

Jonathan didn't borrow as much as this government has done. If the pdp can jettison some bad people in their party and reconcile the aggrieved ones caused by Atiku's intrusion, they'd bounce back. Pdp is the only party where religous and ethnic sentiments don't have a place. They made a great mistake by letting apc grab power. They had corrupt people but couldn't challenge them, they were full of themselves. The level of corruption in the apc is even worse now. See that accountant genera stealing only 100bn naira...just one person out of many.

obi also said he will remove the subsidy!

Yes, but he emphasised the difference between all proponents for the removal; the issue of TRUST. Who amongst them can be trusted to deploy the resources the right way to improve the lives of the masses? Sure-P during GEJ was a mess. If a corrupt government removes subsidy, sorry for the masses.

Just in case you didn't get the memo.

Fuel subsidy is expected to be removed next month or in May before President Buhari leaves office on May 29, 2023.

Stakeholders in the Nigerian oil and gas sector have asked Nigerians to prepare to buy petrol at a rate of N750/Litre when the subsidy is removed.

How are you preparing for life after fuel subsidy removal?

is Dangote refinery already operational? And if it is, can it meet Nigeria demands. All these questions must be answered before raising cost of living for ordinary citizens! Will they increase wages( but this happens to be a curse in Nigeria, Government raises the minimum wage everything other thing will be expensive!) the money made from subsidy removal will be for what exactly?. Nigeria is not ready for complete subsidy removal, maybe partial sha

Dangote refinery is not for Nigerians, it's for petroleum business just like every other refinery in Rotterdam, Fujairah, Houston, etc, he will have a lot of title holders selling his petroleum for him from all over the world, the only benefit for Nigeria is the tax

How are these niqqurs doing the calculation how fuel wan take reach #750/Litre . If fuel sells $70/barrel with current black market exchange rate of #740 , a Litre of fuel would be #325 naira . If you now add cost of haulage, then worst case it would be let's say #400 naira/ liter. When dangote Starts refinery locally, then cost of haulage would be eliminated. So fuel should retail around #325-#400 naira /Litre not #750 naira

no preparation needed and no preparation given.

The Nigerian government has the mandate to refine the nation's crude by enabling our refineries before talking of deregulation.

If they can't get our refineries up and running then they should ensure to enforce transparency on the importation of the fuel back into the country.

The citizens cannot be bearing the brunt of government ineptitude for so long.

They should dare us.

With subsidy removal, oil price at $70/barrel and current exchange rate, petrol should retail at between N280 and N350 per litre

Don't know how those stake holders arrived at #750 for a litre of fuel. Even at $80) barrel , it would still retail @ #400naira
