So I asked Chat Genius to explain what it means for a person who forfeited money because of involvement in drugs and money laundering becoming president of a country and here is what it says.

You:
If a person who forfeited money because of involvement in Drug trafficking and money laundering becomes president of a country

ChatGPT:
, it would bring into question the integrity and credibility of that country's political system. It would also give rise to concerns over whether the person's past criminal activity could influence their decision-making as president. Furthermore, it would send a message that the country is willing to tolerate and even reward illegal behavior, which would be a major blow to its reputation and potentially damage its relationships with other countries. As such, it is highly unlikely that this scenario would come to pass.

If Rignubu becomes president, no world leaders will ever regard him nor respect him. It will be so akward, and of course, no madness will make him to go anywhere near the US or even EU. Nigerians abeg na, I know we don't like it, but can we just use our sense for once?

It is relevant because the last time I checked, INEC issued certificate of return to someone who has a similar past with the question...

Interesting. Who might that have been because as far as I know no elected politician in Nigeria has been convicted of drug charges before.

A terrorist have become nigeria's president so this gives nigerian drug lords the confidence that they too can also become president with proper arrangements.

Question :

Why has Joe Biden not congratulated Thiefñúbû ?

Answer :

The American Government knows that there is no point congratulating a Notorious Drug Baron that is currently holding a Dud check ("Certificate of return"wink

The US govt has cleared the air that it had no case with Tinubu (Ref :US govt letter to the then IGP Tafa Balogun). I would rather believe the US authorities than believing rumors.

That does not still change the fact that he forfeited money for committing a crime, it is like a man who stole and had to forfeit his proceed of loot, he has settled but does it change the fact that he did not commit a crime?

The very US government has said they have no case with him but you insist they must have a case, who does that
Don't take all these things to heart, politicians normally smear one another's name with baseless accusations just to muddle up the water. Always follow official statements instead of relying on rumors, that is behaving responsibly. I believe it is safe conclude our argument here until the courts decide.

Who said they have case with him, the question is did he commit a crime Yes or no? And if you say he did not, why did he forfeit money for not committing a crime or would you allow your bank seize your money without evidence that you stole it or got it illegally?

Conversely, if he did the crime, why wasn't he charged since we all know US has strong policies against drugs

People who are accusing some one of drug peddling wont say anything about 99.9% of drug cases home and abroad attributed to their own people, that is their major export and an average person from their side is a drug dealer.i won’t mention but a leader from there will register Nigeria as a member of the organization of drug exporting countries.
I won’t mention a tribe but if you don’t gerrit,forgeta barrit.

But they still wrote to the IGP that they had no case with him Don't let emotions cloud your reasoning, if they had a case with him would that not be the right time to ask him to answer for his crime
Like I said, let us leave this argument for the court to decide.

Do you understand English? Having a case and committing a crime are 2 different things, Bode George was locked in prison, he served his time, today he is out, Does the Nigerian government still have a case with him? Because he does not have a case anymore, does it change the fact that he did not commit a crime? I want to believe I am discussing with sane human beings here on Nairaland...

Show where US accused him of the crime. At least there must be evidence that he was of interest to the US government, or do I just take your word for it that the US accused him of drug dealings
All I ask is proof from US government that he committed a crime for which he was penalized, is that so much to ask for

What is the source of this document or you think I will just believe any document you bring especially in this age fake news.
The document I am relying on(US government letter to IGP Tafa Balogun) was carried by all major newspapers as at then and it was tendered in court for Tinubu's post governorship elections defense.
I choose to believe that one over a document from dubious sources.

Tinubu was never supposed to be governor in the first place because of his crimes in the U.S, the document you guys keep posting was from U.S embassy in Lagos, that does not mean US government, it is just like saying the U.S embassy congratulated Tinubu as president elect and the U.S government has not.

Does the embassy congratulations mean that the U.S government has congratulated him?

I have told you to leave this matter for the experts but pride no go let you see reason.
