Please I Need Your Advise! My Uk Mba Admission by Edken: 9:06pm On Sep 20, 2011
Dear All

In November, 2010 I decided to further my quest for more academic qualifications in one of the tertiary schools in the UK for my MBA. I applied for a tier 4 visa application in June 2011, and i was rejected based on insufficient funds. I applied again, and this time i was successful. I  received my visa  on 14/09/2011.  The school registration commences from Sept 20, 2011 and ends in Oct 3, 2011.

Before my second  visa application, I earned a promotion at my work place  that will take effect as from  Oct 1,2011. Considering the limited time that i have, I  wrote to the school informing them i will not make school for September 2011 academic session, and that i will like to defer my admission to Jan 2012 academic session, bearing in mind  my new promotion will take effect by Oct 2011.  Here is the  response i got from the school:

Please be aware that, because you have been issued with a visa that you do not intend to use, the University is required to report you to the UK Border Agency to say that you do not intend to use your visa.
You will not be able to use this visa in order to come to the University in January.
If you accept a new offer of admission, you will be issued with a new CAS number and you will be required to apply for a new visa.
Are you sure that you want to delay your admission to January on this basis?  In addition, any new offer that we issue will have an English language condition attached meaning that you will have to take an IELTS or a TOEFL or a PTE Academic test of English language.   Regrettably, the University has no flexibility over this matter because the UK Border Agency does not recognise Nigeria to be an English speaking country.
Please advise what your intention is.   If you want to try to come in September, the very latest date by which you may join is 9am on Monday 3rd October.

Based on the above ,I am seeking advice from the UK students or other people that have been in the same similar situation to advise me on what to do. I never knew all this will happen.  I really desire to study for my course in Jan, 2012 and not going thru the hurdle of re-applying. Already the school has my GBP2, 000 which it seems to me that I have lost, but GOD forbid. Please I will appreciate meaningful advises.
The only taught in my  mind now is to come into school by Nov, 2011 when I shall have my vacation and meet with school officials and discuss this issue with them face to face.

This is a very difficult situation. But i am very surprised at the harsh condition given by the school. You applied for admission, met the conditions and was offered a place and now you intend to defer your admission and the same school says you will have to satisfy a different condition. This is really harsh.

Well, am not familiar with the UK admission and immigration policy. But why didn't you apply for study leave before now? I think the best thing to do now is to discuss with your employer and see if you can be allowed to go before end of October.

I don't know the implication of not using your visa now, bearing in mind that you have been denied before. And based on present employment situation it will be very hard to advise you to resign from you job.

Pls mod can you move to the front page so that she/he can get better responses?
