Say whatever you like about Aunty Abike but the fact remains that without her many of us ( even those who have resided abroad) wouldn't know NIDCOM.

To make Nigeria a better place, individuals must make a change in any position they find themselves. It may be difficult for them but it will improve the country.

As a person vested with responsibility, all you need to do is to be exceptional in your office.

If you think I'm capping, let me give you practical examples 😂:

1. Who is the Head of NAFDAC (don't google it). 90% of those reading this won't know. However, when the Late Dora Akunyili was the head of NAFDAC everyone reading this would scream her name.

2. Who was the former NDLEA boss?
It looked like a useless organisation until Marwa was handed the job.

3. Who was Obasanjo's chief of staff from 1999- 2007? You won't know except you are deeply involved in politics. Who was Yaradua's chief of staff? Who was Jonathan's Chief of Staff. Okay, let's not go backwards- who is Buhari's current Chief of Staff? 😂

When Abba Kyari was in charge, almost everyone here would scream his name. With his office, he was stronger than the Vice President.

4. People in Ogun State or Kebbi State would not know Dave Umahi if he wasn't exceptional. If you're doubting who was Dave Umahi's predecessor? 😂

I can go on and on but remember that has an individual you can make any position you occupy stand out, you can also make the position you occupy go into oblivion.

Just be the best because prestige comes with personality not an office!

My honest assessment of Abike Dabiri's first tenure as NIDCOM Chairman is 70%.

She did not just fight for the establishment of NIDCOM, she started it off successfully and effectively without any precedents to follow. She braved all odds in her way, going about her job with sense of passion, bullishness and adventure. She isn't a diplomat but she refused to be cowed by career diplomats in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs who tried to shout her down into submission. Fortunately, she has the support of the president., which is good a thing for a new agency.

She poked her nosed into every issue that concern Nigerians abroad devoid of diplomatic correctness and in doing so brought such issues to the social media sometimes in a non-polished manner or prematurely. Naturally, this has often put her in the eye of the storm and she has also sometimes reacted with a sense of frustration or being under-appreciated. But we must accept, hitherto, those issues she brought to the Social Media were kept under the radar by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. So, I believe she deserves some credit for communicating updates in line with her journalistic background.

For example in the current Sudan case, Ministry of Disaster Management is running the show as opposed to even the Ministry of Foreign Affairs but Abike Dabiri in her passion 'shook her head' in there, communicating updates that exposed some organisational blunders. I am sure her fellow woman who is Minister of Minister of Natural would be loathing her for poke nosing but that's Abike for you, doing her job. Unfortunately, she is the one being hit by the unsatisfied Nigerians instead of the Minister.

Of course, there is a large room for improvement but in my personal opinion, Abike Dabiri deserves a second tenure.

She was reappointed for going to a war torn Sudan and segregating Nigerians according to State of Origin and finally asking Igbos to come down from the bus that was supposed to take them to safety?

She was reappointed for always naming and shaming Igbos who get arrested for drugs in Indonesia and Malaysia but would never do the same when other ethnic nationalities are arrested for same offense in Saudi Arabia?

She was reappointed for living a Nigerian girl to die like a chicken in Ivory Coast only to be dodging questions from David Hundeyin, a journalist who has been following the case?

Well, as long as her ill actions were against Igbos, she did well. Kudos to her!

Appointment/reappointment still dey hungry Buhari he's leaving in few weeks time.
