Due to fortitude and perseverance, both young and elderly Nigerians have broken Guinness World Records and are proud holders of the Records.

Anyone may strive to be listed among the Guinness World Records holders for anything, regardless of age, gender, or race, as long as they are prepared to put in the necessary effort.

The following Nigerians are Guinness World Records Holders:


Tobi Amusan (Commonwealth Guinness World Records)
She now holds the record in the 100 m hurdles events at the World, Commonwealth, and African championships.

In the 100 m hurdles, she won back-to-back Commonwealth and African championships in 2018 and 2022. She also won the race twice at the African Games.


When Amusan won the 100-meter hurdles trophy in 2021, she broke Glory Alozie’s previous African record to become the first Nigerian athlete to win a Diamond League title.

She successfully defended her title in 2022, establishing the current world record of 12.12 seconds in the semifinal and a wind-aided 12.06 seconds in the 100-meter hurdles final at the World Championships.



Her current world record serves as motivation for our country, showing us that we still have skills that can be developed.


Kafayat Oluwatoyin Shafau (Kaffy)
She is a Nigerian dancer, choreographer, dance teacher, and fitness coach better known by her stage name Kaffy.

One of Nigeria’s most well-liked dancers, Kaffy is also referred to as the choreography queen. She is one of the most well-known people on this list due to her success as a dancer.


In 2006, Kaffy and her group broke the record for the longest dance party by continuing the Nokia Silver Bird Danceathon for 52 hours and 3 minutes without pausing.

STEPHEN KESHI ( African Cup of Nations Guinness World Records)
[/b]Stephen Keshi (born 31 January 1961 in Nigeria) is the youngest person to have won the Africa Cup of Nations as both a player and coach.

On 10 February 2013, he led Nigeria to victory at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg, South Africa, at the age of 52 years and 10 days.



When he won the competition as a player in 1994, defeating Zambia 2-1 in the championship game, Keshi served as captain of the national team.

Keshi managed his side to victory following a 1-0 victory over Burkina Faso in the championship match.

Hip Hop World Magazine launched The Headies (formerly known as the Hip Hop World Awards) in 2006 to recognize outstanding achievements in Nigerian music.

Rapper Modenine, whose real name is Babatunde Olusegun Adewale from Nigeria, was born in Britain.


He has received nine Headies awards, including best rap album for Malcolm IX – The Lost Sessions in 2006, best rap single for “Cry” in 2007, and seven “Lyricist on the Roll” honors from 2006 to 2013 (appropriately enough).

FELA KUTI
Over the course of a solo career spanning 23 years, Fela Kuti released 46 albums. The first and last solo albums were created in 1969 and 1992, respectively.
