After the Indian chef broke the record, how many Indians quickly sprang up to take the glory from her? She held that record for 4 solid years before Hilda broke it. Hilda broke hers and in less than 48 hours, all manner of human beings started springing up from remote African countries saying that they have decided to bid for the record.

Why not allow the poor girl enjoy the fruits of her hard work before trying to take away her shine? This jealousy and "pull him down" syndrome is the reason why Africa doesn't move forward!

Guiness World Records should have a policy that record breakers must enjoy their feat for at least two years before any other person that breaks same record after them is recognized. This will also give Guinness World Records some value, it will not make their award a cheap one to win.

This is not right at all. It will amount to depriving others their chances to achieve something when they can. Let anyone who feels like breaking or setting a record go ahead and do so. Even those wants to break Hilda's record will still have theirs broken and that will continue until someone sets a record that will be too difficult to break in terms of cooking then everybody go comot body

My thoughts exactly. Give record holders/breakers minimum of 1 or 2 years before reviewing entries to set a new record, give the award some value, not like you're giving them money.

But how….for example if Anthony Joshua wins GWR for the fastest knock out in boxing history should all boxing activities be put on hold,if Tyson fury then gets an earlier knock out in say two months after should GWR deny him his achievement?
