No wonder I said you sounded old... You must be in your 50s then.

Can I ask you some questions? If you don't mind.
Yankiss:
His Royal Highness. I am the traditional ruler of my area.

Re: South African Famous People And The Tribes They Belong To by Nobody: 9:14am On Jun 01, 2023
Thuso is Zulu.

I think you're trying to say Lupita, she not South African... She's East African, I think Kenyan, if I'm not mistaken.

If that's you on your profile, you look beautiful.. smiley smiley smiley

Yankiss..☝️☝️☝️In this modern day world, what can you say it's your purpose as the king or the traditional ruler in your community?

What are the things that you've proudly done for your community so far?

Come to think of it, King Mswati was only 18 when he was crowned King.

Damn! He was still a baby too.

Wow. You are duty bound to, if u were in my domain or from my domain. Age is immaterial. By the concept of kingship among my people, the king whatever his age is father of all. You will see elders bowing to the king. My chiefs are all my elders in age but they stand up and bow in deference to my presence. That's the beauty of culture.

That man hasn't done anything for his people, all he does is spent the State money on his women, take his kids to fancy schools abroad, and live in a palace made of gold from the inside.

His people are living in poverty and when they protest, he gets them killed... He abducted one of his wives and forced her to marry him even after her family pleaded with him to release her.

He kept her inside the palace for about a year before letting her out in the public as his wife... Who knows what he was doing with her inside the palace.

It's so bad. But to pass judgment, there must be a flip side to the allegations. He must have to defend them. There's a plethora of negative press against him. The yearly reed dance and taking of bride I think is cultural. But taking women against their will and without family consent seems to me really gross and unacceptable. His late father, Subhuza 11 was worse with women, nicknamed the great bull. grin

No direct consequences. It depends on the severity of disrespect. The king wields powers even in ceremonial and non monarchical systems like ours. There's a kind of disrespect that sets one against the entire kingdom or community, not just the king. So, a wise person does the needful to avoid implied hostilities. grin

There's a negative press against him because it's evident from his people that they're suffering and he's not doing anything for them... They're just his slaves.

When the people protested against the monarchy back in 2021, he had them killed. And his daughter princess Sikhanyiso, who used to lead the Reed dance and was a symbol of purity is now a mother out of wedlock.

Only virgins participate in the Reed dance, but something tells me that his daughter lost her virginity long time ago, but they kept it a secret and she continued participating in the dance until she got pregnant.

I became king to serve my people. The king is merely the servant of his people in disguise. I love my people. I hate oppression. I have achieved innumerably. Attracted numerous government presence. Liberated landed assets of communities illegally annexed by the state government. Assisted many of my subjects to get paid employ. Stopped intimidation of my people by anybody or agency of govt whatsoever. There is also the area of cultural identification and protection. There are many innumerable. When I release my memoir you can be holistically abreast. I am not the image of the arrogant king. I mix well with my subjects. My people love me, especially the children.

If these be the case, he is not leading at all. He is just a dictator. How can one groom a responsible daughter when the children are so many. He obviously didnt have the time for them. He is risking the monarchy. The people cannot remain his slaves forever. One day is one day a revolt could lead to his assassination and an overthrow of the monarchical system. He is about one of two absolute monarchs in Africa. There was the Russian revolution. Those who fail to learn from negative history are bound to repeat it - with pains!!

Who's the other absolute monarch?
King of Mohammed V of Morocco and Lesotho's king Letsie 111 . But I think the later two are constitutional Monarchs. The only real absolute Monarch is the Ngwenyama Eswatini

You are somehow correct. The other two are constitutional monarchs in the sense that their powers are spelt out in the constitution. They have bounds unlike the Ngwenyama

Most African kingships have grown greedy nowadays to a point that I don't take them seriously anymore.

Immediately someone becomes King, they marry many wives and take their children to school abroad, neglecting their duties as community leaders.

I don't take these kingships seriously and if it was according to me, they should be banished... But if they're still useful for the people of Nigeria, then who am I to judge you?
