I thought u were guru-ing up? U never guru finish?

Truth is you sound like someone who has been highly unsuccessful at hunting foreign remote work. And with the kind of entitlement mind-set you have, I can see why.

Let me reiterate my previous advise to you: NO ONE OWES YOU ANYTHING. NO NIGERIAN TECH FOREIGN REMOTE WORKER OWES YOU ANYTHING!

You can continue to aspire to be Nigeria's guru developer. No one really cares.

You toxic envy and jealousy stinks to the high heaven

You think you will work remote for life abi?

Try use your brain, that job can end any time and your will be relegated to the trenches..

Use this opportunity wisely, build something solid, it most not be an IT biz..

But no forget, things change.

As for guruing up, it's a nice journey..

At this stage I'm currently a code reviewer, forget the whole broke stuff I wrote..

I am broke Sha, I know I never get anything..

The person you quoted is actually right. When I built my first SaaS, I had less than 9 clients before I relocated to the US that year. It was there I met an investor. I doubt I would've gotten that chance if I hadn't relocated. Lots of Nigerians have great ideas but lack funding for implementation

Small brain boy.

Most Nigerian Tech founders today who succeed had worked for companies locally and abroad.

They're so many advantages working for companies in your area of interest before starting something up.

You'd learn first hand from experts, you'd learn orientations and how to properly manage your ideas and bring them to light if you're one with entrepreneurial spirit.
Networking, you'd make friends with people who'd likely join you in your own projects and help you scale whatever you choose to delve into in future.

Na Nigeria you the Not Yankee... There's no Silicon Valley in Nigeria... easiest way to build a startup in Nigeria is by first working with those who already have a successful business/startup to at least create some level of connections.

Even You need to have some money first before creating a startup... how would you have that money if you've never worked or done something to get it... How would you fund your project in the early stages?

You think investors will just give you money to fund your idea that isn't proven in the market or idea you haven't tested anywhere to see if it will be ever profitable?
Gone are the day way only person person go lock himself inside room to code idea.

Before you finish coding another person done put the idea for market grin

I asked an intellectual question, but the low lives want us to waste our time talking about problems, without any solution..

Nigeria is this, Nigeria is that. These were the same excuses our parents made till their time past.

Most of us are about making the mistake they made...

We have no excuses in our generation..

Please don't tell me to take the lead, do something... I have already created 2 start ups..

You will hear about them Soo sooon..

The difference between here and NexaScale, is there they share information than insult. we should learn to be civic, maybe that is why we are not building anything.

There is remote work obviously, you just have to be skilled and focused on how to get them, I have an intern here on NL and we still see gigs. My advice is to look at platforms, you don't need to build a startup to solve a problem, just understand how to extend platforms and you can be a consultant before you do a startup.

My website is finally up, I will explain in articles.

Please, mention me to them should you post about it on NL. Thanks.

No mind that Boy.

He obviously created this thread to laugh at or mock Devs who may have lost their jobs during the layoffs or devs yet to get jobs or placements.

When people began engaging him he now change direction and said he's seeking intellectual engagement.

From the title of his topic and comments he made from first page... How's this seeking intellectual conversation and engagement ?

Anyone who gave any input as to why they're not yet ready to build a startup he'd shut them up and tell them they're saying nonsense yet he's the master of procrastination and entitlement.

Ask him why he's yet to build something great he'd give u all excuse in his book.

He's now claiming he's founded 2 startups already..

How do you start a second startup when the first one isn't even functioning...

How exactly does he define a startup?

He's fast to call someone swine and from the gutters when he's the one who have countless time stated he's currently broke, pathetic and not doing anything relevant apart from reviewing the basic codes he's typed last year filled with bugs which will probably take him the whole year to review.

Now he'd think I'm making this comment to spite him.
Truth be say... I enjoy commenting on any threads here irrespective of who the OP is. grin

I won't even engage him on that startup because you either have to have money or be technically competent to have a Tech startup. Unless starting a "all foreign remote workers should show love" thread is now seen as a start-up.

He's talking about "building something" and yet he wasn't on the Litchat thread. I understand that one may feel envious of "more successful peers" (not like he is my peer at anything). But rather than wallow in misery and self pity he should be doing stuff to better his lot. Not saying he wants to be a "guru programmer" and at least one year after we never see anything to justify the "guru up" claim.

People building a startup won't come out on Nairaland everyday and try to convince everyone they're building a startup just so they'd get some validations and sympathy likes... Him saying he's building 2 startups is obviously rubbish an as result of severe inferiority complex.

He wants so if you ask him why he's yet to get a remote job despite millions of applications he's sent he'd tell you he has two startups currently located on localhost.
