So they should remove subsidy without palliative to cushion the effect of inflation on food, transportation and other basics for most Nigerians that are already struggling.
Koo nii daa fun woo naa
Eyin oloriburuku won won yi.
Yesterday they were blaming marketers, today na another shalaye.
Oni shaa kan reejee

Do you have any brain? Where is the money for palliative when there was no money for subsidy? It is not like there was money for subsidy that you can now divert to palliative, there is no money. Everybody plus rich plus poor will pay the price for the nonsense subsidy regime we have been practicing for too long.

Yet the tinubu you are licking his ass today was once against it,writing useless articles and granting interviews up and down despite the fact that the government of that time even made provisions for palliatives just for his own personal ambitions and interest.
How do people who earn 30k or even slightly above survive when prices of things which is already beyond expensive skyrocket to another level without palliatives from the government.
Your position do not even surprise me cos you’re a famous tribalist here and normally tinubu supporters no Dey get sense.

No. They just couldn't allow settlers to take control of Lagos state. This is different, it affects everyone
Now a demonstration of an NLC strike action in Lagos should be seen as an opportunity for settlers to take over Lagos. sad

So government should not increase wages while the prices of foodstuffs, transportation and other commodities skyrocket due to inflation caused by removal of subsidy in a country where the cost of living is already high compared to the wages.

My understanding is that govt. was borrowing to pay for subsidy. If that is the case, it's not like money is being saved, they are just trying to stop the debt from growing. They will still need to keep servicing the existing debt, the cost of which has now apparently exceeded the country's revenue.

Spot on. That's what most people don't realize. There is no savings from subsidy removal to be spent on other things.

Peter Obi said the same thing too. I don't know why some people are just making unnecessary noise over the issue

They will prefer not to talk about that or say it. Wasn’t it part of OBI’s agenda too? Some people are just hypocrites!! Cause if it was OBI that do what tinubu did, I’m pretty sure they won’t even bat an eye but rather hail him more.

The NLC are empty individuals. Government didn't fix petrol prices, NNPC did for their filling stations.

By virtue of the Petroleum Industry Act, NNPC is a private company and no longer a government corporation. The prices fixed by the NNPC are independent.

Filling stations that are not under the NNPC franchise can sell at whatever price they want.

Let's face it, the NLC wanted their party to win. The leadership of the trade union endorsed the Labour Party during this year's general elections.

It is painful when groups try to stall genuine and pertinent economic plans because they're not in power. It is counterproductive to play politics when its time for governance. Tinubu himself and most members of the APC countered Jonathan when he started the process of removing fuel subsidy many years ago.

However, the NLC and its sister organisation, the Labour Party, will fail to stop the removal of fuel subsidy and will fail to win elections in 2027 😂
Try to be sensible and have consciience,i know that you are a party loyalist ,have you ever wondered the hardship it will cause,Nobody is saying that subsidy should not be removed but before removal make forex Available at a unified rate,Repair Government Refineries and if possible government should run transport business.
imagine a cleaner earning #20k monthly ,and was spending #5h daily and will the rain crease of pump price now has to pay #1 I daily for Tfare, how does he cope.
We should be mindful of what we support cause one way or the other we all will be affected

Nigerians have been scammed by Buhari/Tinubu by this fuel subsidy removal. The money that will be realized from the subsidization will be used to service external debts and looted by greedy politicians. iMF and world bank have been telling Nigerian government to increase fuel pump price and electricity tarrif. I tell you govt borrowed to finance their personal interest and not for the masses. Now they have succeeded in milking the masses to enrich themselves. You all voted for a man whose health condition is questionable. His brain is mental health is not at optimum level.
