1. They are just waiting for their husbands to die? Why would a husband allow such a situation to begin with when his wife is meant to be a partner in life?

2. Never mind that in most cases the most ends up shared with the children at the end, but don't forget that the woman worked for that money. She married the man and dedicated her life and time to the man, so to tell her she should not fight to have some of that money to bed her at the end is to ignore her efforts as a partner in that marriage

The children get the money for free but the woman does not. So don't talk about things you are unwilling to at least maturity process first.

This just happened recently in my street. The man was a land surveyor during the survey the community gave him our street(close) as payment. He had 4/5 tenant 3 storey buildings in the close, tractors/heavy machines and also 70 plots of land in another still developing area.

His first son is deaf and dumb but his brothers/siblings are physically ok but within 3 years of the man's death, his wife and second son had sold all the tractors/heavy machines used in building, all the remaining free plots in the close(street) and the tenant houses and they did this without the first son's knowledge but before he could react they sold the 70 plots in the still developing area.

For the past few years now, the deaf first son and his mother/sibling s have been in court because the mother sold their main house. The last remaining property of the man in the city, leaving the deaf son homeless.

The court's judgment was that since his mother was the legal wife of their father, she had the right to all his properties and can do with them as she pleases that the only property she can't sell is their village house which has been uncompleted for years. Last December, the deaf son and his family along with their tenants were ejected from that house and he began homeless in the street owned by his father.

No he didn't marry two wives. Just one. His wife and her other children ganged up on their first born son who is deaf and dumb not dump. They stole all their father's properties and even the one,he was living in and he went to court and lost against his mother so the new owners ejected him and his family.

So, in a situation where the children are complacent and/or irresponsible, you expect a responsible, tenacious, and resourceful mother to fold her arms and watch the complacent children take control of the wealth and waste it. Some of you don't always seem to understand that as difficult as it could be to acquire wealth in some circumstances, it is more difficult to maintain and sustain it; thus, when the chief accumulator becomes unhealthy/dead, the next most tenacious, resourceful and responsible adult available, regardless of the gender, should automatically take control of the wealth for its preservation and the good of all concerned.
