Abegi, where did this ‘reporter’ steal his expo from?! grin

It’s HALIRU (not Rilwanu) Sarki…
And he’s a wide forward/winger, not a defender.

And Ishaq Rafiu is NOT part of the U20 team!

You & I are not the ones doing the playing. The players are the ones to stay focused. Nothing wrong in fans making predictions & projections. Even bookmakers & pundits do so.
If they were to talk to the President now, he will urge them to get to the Finals & lift the Trophy. Nothing wrong.

Fans contribute to the unnecessary pressure bro

I still can't forget how teary I was When Lionel Messi singlehandedly destroy Nigeria at the Youth championships.... Omo... The saddening thing is — because of the time differences between South America and Nigeria, we had to wake up at midnight to watch the eagles of Nigeria crash to their deaths under the fiery boots of the Argentine maestro.

Perfect payback. grin grin grin

Nigeria’s U-20 team pulled off a major upset on Wednesday night, June 1, 2023, by defeating Argentina’s U-20 team 2-0 to advance to the quarterfinals of the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup.

The Flying Eagles, as Nigeria’s U-20 team is known, took the lead in the 61st minute through Ibrahim Muhammad. The lead was doubled in stoppage time thanks to a goal from Rilwanu Sarki.

Argentina had several chances to equalize, but they were unable to find the back of the net. The Flying Eagles held on for the win to set up a quarterfinal clash against either Korea Republic or Ecuador.

The win was a major upset, as Argentina was considered one of the favorites to win the tournament. However, Nigeria played a strong game and were able to get the result they needed to advance.

This is Nigeria’s second consecutive appearance in the quarterfinals of the FIFA U-20 World Cup. They last reached this stage in 2019, when they were eliminated by Ukraine.

The Flying Eagles are hoping to go one step further this time around and reach the semifinals of the tournament. They will need to play their best football if they want to achieve their goal.

Here are some of the key factors that contributed to Nigeria’s victory:

The Flying Eagles’ victory over Argentina is a major boost for Nigerian football. It shows that the country has a bright future in youth football. The Flying Eagles will now be looking to reach the semifinals of the FIFA U-20 World Cup for the first time since 2005.

In fairness, Argentina is a LAST-MINUTE host of the competition…
After Indonesia was stripped of hosting rights because of local protests against Israel’s participation.

Further, FIFA doesn’t allow use of club stadiums in-season…
So the hosting committee could only use stadiums that are own by the municipalities (ie, local govts).

So those are government facilities...no maintainace.before they have the hosting to Argentina, didn't they see the pitches? Something they would have given it to morroco..even the pitches used in morroco under 20 afcon are miles better

OP,I realize that you posted this from Naija gisthub but I wonder which match they were watching because everyone affirmed, even the commentators that our DM,DANIEL DAGA was Man of the Match after effectively protecting the back 4 and snuffing out most of their midfield threat forcing them to start using their wings as there was no joy for them through the centre.
Special mentions go to Emmanuel Umeh who changed the game after coming on,Abel Ogwuche and Solomon Agbalaka who were our Central Defence pairing.
Make people wey dey write about football actually dey watch this ball.
