that sampling format got him his biggest hit til date (with last last and Tony Braxton sample), thus i would understand why they would want to copy that format.

You're right but all artists are doing it now and it's eventually going to be their undoing.

music today has changed greatly... nobody writes songs any longer. all these artists are working with 20 writers/producers to produce ONE track, (sampling other people's songs) while people like Prince would write and produce a whole album by themselves, playing each and every instruments on that said album. sadly this negative trend started with the likes of Beyonce.

even the length of songs have changed.... these gen Z kids have such a short attention span that the new format today is to make songs that are no more than 3mins in length. case in point Burna "last last" song: 2.45min, Burna "sittin on top of the world" song: 2.40min, CKay "love nwanti" song: 2.24min.
