This episode of Samri channel devotes its time space to discuss the recent decisions of OPEC Plus to extend the voluntary cut in oil production until the end of April next year (2024). Where the Saudi Minister of Energy, Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, said during the press conference held at the headquarters of OPEC in the Austrian capital, Vienna, that the bloc agreed to continue reducing production by 3.66 million barrels per day, which is the total of what was reduced in the two OPEC meetings in October 2022 (2 1 million barrels per day) and April 2023 (1.6 million barrels per day).

Abdulaziz bin Salman also said that Saudi Arabia will reduce its oil production, starting next July, to 9 million barrels per day, after production was stable at 10 million barrels per day until last May. This is the biggest Saudi cut in oil production in years.

On the other hand, the American Wall Street Journal indicated that sharp differences arose between Saudi Arabia and its partners in OPEC (the UAE), who were not committed to the decisions to reduce Saudi production.

The United Arab Emirates emerged victorious from the meeting after OPEC excluded it from the decision to voluntarily cut oil production, but rather granted it approval to increase its oil production to 3.22 million barrels per day.

In addition to the above, the episode refers to the Western media campaigns against Saudi Energy Minister Abdulaziz bin Salman, and their backgrounds.

The news reported by international news agencies about OPEC's decision to deny correspondents of Bloomberg and Reuters agencies as well as the Wall Street Journal entry to the OPEC building and to attend the OPEC press conference was also presented.
