Today marks 30 years from the 12th of June 1993 when the annulled elections took place which saw two challengers jostling for the position of the presidency in the persons of M.K.O Abiola a business mogul from the SDP and Tofa Bashir from the NRC.
The election was annulled by the then military president,General Ibrahim Babagida a.k.a evil genius that nearly put the whole nation on the brink of another costly war.

Down the lane,we have come to have power back to the civilian government which happened on the 29th of May 1999 and till date, however we cannot say that the very essence of democracy in this nation has really being respected as much, though this is my personal opinion, I strongly come to believe that over the years the things that we have come to experience as a nation as per the question of democracy we have not yet fully approached it pragmatically or to say realistically, our democracy is still at its nascent,we are still trying to develop and gradually we would get there.

So to you,how do you see democracy so far in this nation?
Are we truly following the principle of democracy?
is it enough to say that our democratic system is fair enough?
What can be the way forward if No is your answer?

DEMOCRACY IS SCAM
DEMOCRACY IS CORRUPTION
THE DIVIDENDS OF DEMOCRACY IS PUBLIC LOOTING..

WISH WE CAN GET SOMEONE LIKE BRIGADIER TUNDE IDIAGBON TO RESET THIS DEMOCRACY BACK TO MILITARY RULE.....
WE HAVE TASTED BOTH MILITARY AND DEMOCRATIC RULE

OBVIOUSLY, MILITARY RULE IS STILL BETTER BY FAR.!!

cheesy

Some have said we should return to the military regime instead of our democracy. Some have said our colonialists should come back and colonize us. Some have opted for sharia. My point is, it is difficult to satisfy an average Nigerian. He is full of complain all the time, very ungrateful.
