I have had lots of discussions with so many on this topic so i decided to raise a thread that'll treat it for everyone who feels he or she is really intelligent to contribute.

American English Dictionary defines atheism as:

(narrowly) Belief that no deities exist (sometimes including rejection of other religious beliefs).
(broadly) Rejection of belief that any deities exist (with or without a belief that no deities exist).
(very broadly) Absence of belief that any deities exist (including absence of the concept of deities).
(historical) Absence of belief in a particular deity, pantheon, or religious doctrine (notwithstanding belief in other deities).


My own definition of an atheist:

Anyone who doesn't believe in deities!

But this has a deeper meaning than the short sentence because the word "BELIEVE" connotes "TRUST" or "FEAR" so as to continue doing things in line with the rules set by the deity you're certain of His/ Her/ Its existence.

So if truly you believe in a deity you will live strictly in harmony with what the deity say.

Now let's check how many people truly believe the existence of an unseen supernatural being?
Is it those saying they believe with their mouth but whose actions says otherwise?
An author says in His book:

'The foolish one says in his heart: “There is no Jehovah (God).” Their actions are corrupt, and their dealings are detestable; No one is doing good' Psalm 14:1

Note that the Author didn't just say "the foolish say with his mouth" rather He said "the foolish say in his heart"
So how do you know those saying God doesn't exist in their hearts?
Is it by declaring it with their lips?
This Author still goes further saying:

"their actions are corrupt, their dealings are detestable, none of them is doing what is good" compare to 2Timothy 3:5

In fact the Author still say about these disguised atheists:

“This people approach me with their mouth And they honor me with their lips, But their heart is far removed from me; And their fear of me is based on commands of men that they have been taught." Isaiah 29:13

This means instead of the fear of God they are living in fear of man because they can see man but can't see God.

So the floor is open guys how many atheists do you know around you?
Is it just those claiming they're atheists to prove they're bold, fearless and not gullible or those acting in line with the concept of ATHEISM which says:

"There is no God"

"Claiming not believing in anything is itself a belief" in as far the word "belief" can't be missing in their thought then it look absurd to me for someone to say "oh I don't believe in anything I only believe in Atheism"

My personal opinion though.....

That psalm verse is saying anyone that doesn’t believe yahweh exist is a fool, it’s talking to all non yahweh worshippers.

My personal opinion though.....

Words are adopted and used when majority starts using it.
For instance the word "CHURCH" according to the Bible means a gathering of Christians buy over the years many do refer to buildings where worshipers claiming Christians gather to worship hence it was adopted even by many intellectuals so instead of the assembly many now calls the buildings "church"

The same applies to the word atheism today as it has been adopted so instead of arguing over it's real meaning let's assume it has been accepted even by believers but then we need to distinguish between true atheists and those claiming atheists because there are many claiming atheists but are believers and there are many claiming believers but are atheists.
