The President, Remo Stars Football Club, Otunba Kunle Soname has donated the sum N28million for the players, coaching crew and supporters club.

Otunba Soname announced the cash gifts at a reception held at the Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne, Ogun state to appreciate the players, technical crew and supporters club for qualifying for the CAF Champions League and coming second on the log of Nigeria Professional Football League.


Otunba Soname who hinged the success of the club on hard work and structured football development.

According to him, if a development is not structured, the success will be intermittent.


The Remo Stars President, therefore, called for the establishment of privately owned football clubs in the country to galvanize the economic development of the Nigerian football league.


Otunba Soname, therefore, gave out the sum of 20 million naira to the Players and additional 5 million naira to the coaching and medical crew.

The supporters club also went home with the sum of 1.5 million naira while the media crew also carted away the sum of 1.5 million naira.

Is owning a football club in Nigeria economically viable business wise or it is just for the fun of it?
