Election Petition: Don't distract Peter Obi, Umeh warns Amobi Ogah, others

The Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial Zone, Chief Victor Umeh, has warned Amobi Oga and co to shut up over Peter Obi's petition against Tinubu.

Umeh's reaction followed comments made by some elected members of the Labour Party (LP) that Tinubu is doing well and therefore should be supported by all.

Amobi Ogah, the lawmaker representing Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency of Abia State had insinuated that Obi should withdraw his petition against Tinubu, and wait for next time.

He had called on his party's presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and his counterpart in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar to support President Tinubu.

He told reporters that God had given the mandate to Tinubu and his political opponents should display sportsmanship by supporting him until the court would say otherwise

But while speaking in an interview with Arise TV, Senator Umeh urged them to be cautious when advising the LP presidential candidate to support President Bola Tinubu, adding that Obi had the right to challenge the outcome of the presidential election and only his opinion would matter.

.
Umeh made it clear that only Peter Obi's opinion would matter as far as the election petition against Tinubu is concerned.

He stated that a large spectrum of LP members are ssupporting Peter Obi, adding that others with different opinions shouldn't distract him( Peter)

Umeh said, “For those in Labour Party rambling on television that things are good and there is no point continuing the petitions, only Peter Obi's opinion matters because they weren't the ones that contested the presidential election. He is in court pursuing his petitions vigorously and a large spectrum of the party is still with him in the sense that he is challenging the process of the elections.”

Senator Victor Umeh must be smiling inside that he has played a fast one on Peter. He is now a Senator who rode on the cameleon's back while Obi is still chasing the wind.
