Problem looms in Uniuyo
...As Umo Eno, Enoidem demands for refunds of money paid to stop Daniel Akpan from testifying.

The University of Uyo (Uniuyo) is facing a major problem as Umo Eno’s team has allegedly demanded for refunds of money paid to stop a key witness from testifying at the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Uyo.

The witness in question, Daniel Akpan, has been at the center of an ongoing caseinvolving Senator Bassey Albert, who is challenging the credibility of Umo Eno as the governor of Akwa Ibom State, arguing he was expelled over forgery of educational qualifications.

According to sources, the Vice Chancellor of Uniuyo was allegedly given the sum of 500 million naira to share among the management of the school and also to buy out Daniel Akpan, the key witness.

The payment was allegedly made by some members of Umo Eno's team of legal practitioners, who were seeking to get rid of evidence related to Umo Eno's expulsion from the university.

However, the deal did not go as planned, and Daniel Akpan ended up testifying against Uniuyo in court. As a result, barr Emmanuel Enoidem and others allegedly involved in the deal are reportedly now demanding a refund of the money paid to the Vice Chancellor.

Dr Ime Akpabio, who had earlier testified for Uniuyo, claiming that Daniel Akpan “is non-existent”, is reportedly crying foul that he was only given 3 million naira by the VC ,out of the 45 million naira that was supposed to be his share.

This development has raised serious concerns about the integrity of Uniuyo and its testimony at the ongoing tribunal. It is unclear how the university will respond to these demands for refund, and what impact this will have on the case going forward.

The situation has also sparked outrage among members of the public, who are calling for a thorough investigation into the matter. Many are concerned that this incident is just a tip of the iceberg, and that there may be other instances of corruption and malpractices taking place behind the scenes.
